you can get mechanical branch in amrita through state quota as the closing rank for mechanical in state quota is generally above 15000. you can check the previous year closing ranks at https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/aeee-cutoff.

Amrita University in Coimbatore is the main branch. In that branch, from the previous years cutoff rank, for CSE 16547 (in state-quota) and 6940 (in open-quota). Since your rank is 17K you might not be able to make it. But, with your rank, you can try for ECE

For jee percentile u could get nit's itself that's what my suggstion is. as far as now the lifestye of nitians and amrita students differs a lot .so think abt it i would recommend you to appear for jee advanced or get into an nit smoothly with your jee percenile
