Hello Vignesh,

if your KCET admit card shows PCMB but you studied only PCM in 12th you can still choose not to attempt the biology paper. only the marks of the subjects you actually write will be considered. writing biology won't benefit you unless you're eligible for PCB- based  courses.

Hope this message finds you well,

Thank You.

With 70 marks in KCET (PCM) and 82% in boards , your expected rank is likely between 20,000 to 30,000 .

The final rank depends on your exact PCM percentage (not overall %) and how others performed. This is just an estimate — actual ranks may vary.

For a detailed explanation on how KCET ranks are calculated, you might find this video helpful: VIDEO (https://youtu.be/wuRCVUVFByE)

It is never possible to prepare for any exam in 15 days however if you already completed the syllabus you can thoroughly review the important topics of the NCERT and your class notes.

Have a quick glance at the important formulas of physics and maths.

For chemistry and Biology, thorough reading of ncert line by line.

PCM BOARD MARKS {OUT OF 300} :- 288/300 X 100 = 96 %

KCET MARKS {OUTOF 180} :- 60/180 X 100 = 33.33 %

FINAL NORMALIZED SCORE = 96 + 33.33/2 = 64.67 %

WITH A FINAL SCORE OF APRROX 64.67 % YOUR KCET RANK { ACCORDING TO PREVIOUS YEAR DATA } IS LIKELY TO BE IN RANGE OF 12,000 - 20,000

RANK MAY VARY ON THE BASIS OG DIFFICULTY OF EXAM  , OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS AND NORMALIZATION AND RESERVATION POLICIES

Hi aspirant,

Through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), you can gain admission to top colleges and universities in Karnataka in courses like BTech, BPharm, etc. Because this is the entrance for undergraduate courses, they will generally ask questions from the syllabus of class 11 and class 12.

For engineering courses, you should focus on physics, chemistry and mathematics and for medical courses, you should focus on physics, chemistry and biology.

If your goal is to become an IAS officer, choose a degree that supports UPSC preparation and also provides a good backup:

BA in Political Science, History, Geography, or Economics is ideal for IAS.
BSc or BCom is fine too, but you'll need to study humanities separately for UPSC.
For backup, pick a subject with good job prospects like BBA or Computer Science.

KCET is required only if you're planning professional courses like Engineering or Agriculture. It's not needed for BA or general degrees.

After 10th for IAS

Dear

Transitioning your daughter from the CBSE curriculum in Karnataka to the Tamil Nadu State Board after completing Class 10 is feasible, but it involves several considerations:

  1. Admission to State Board Schools : Many state board schools in Tamil Nadu may not admit students directly into Class 11 if they have completed Class 10 under a different board. This is due to differences in curricula and examination systems. However, some schools might consider such admissions under specific circumstances, such as relocation of the family.

  2. Documentation : To facilitate the transition, you will need to provide:

    • Transfer Certificate (TC) : Issued by the previous school, indicating the student's details and reason for leaving.
    • Migration Certificate : This certifies that the student has migrated from one educational board to another. You can download the CBSE migration certificate online through the Digilocker portal.
    • Academic Records : Mark sheets and other relevant documents from the CBSE-affiliated school.
  3. CBSE Guidelines : The CBSE has specific guidelines regarding admissions for students migrating from other boards:

    • Class 10 Admissions : Direct admission to Class 10 is generally not allowed unless the student has completed a regular course of study for Class 9 and has passed the Class 9 examination from a CBSE-affiliated institution.
    • Class 11 Admissions : Admission to Class 11 is possible for students who have passed an equivalent examination from another recognized board, subject to the school's discretion and availability of seats.
  4. State Board Policies : Each state board may have its own policies regarding the admission of students from other boards. It's essential to consult the Tamil Nadu State Board's guidelines and the specific school's admission policies.

Recommendations :

  • Contact Schools Directly : Reach out to the schools in Tamil Nadu where you intend to seek admission. Inquire about their admission process for students transitioning from the CBSE curriculum.
  • Consult Educational Authorities : Engage with the Tamil Nadu State Education Department or local educational authorities for guidance on the admission process and necessary documentation.
  • Prepare Documentation : Ensure all required documents, including Transfer and Migration Certificates, are obtained and verified.

By proactively addressing these steps, you can facilitate a smoother transition for your daughter into the Tamil Nadu State Board system.
