CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025 - Eligibility Criteria

Students who have completed full-time undergraduate engineering course in Civil can apply for CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025. Check out the eligibility details given in the table below.

  • Candidates should ensure that they are fulfils the eligibility details as prescribed by the CVPPPL.

  • They need to fill the online application form carefully without any mistakes because no changes will be possible after the final submission of application form.

  • Mode of application fee payment - Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking and Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

  • If the online transaction has not successfully been completed, then they should make the payment again.

  • GATE 2024 score or prior is not valid. Only GATE 2025 score is valid for the CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025.

How to fill the application form for the CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025

Candidates can check the steps given below to fill the online application form.

Step-1: Online registration - First, complete the initial registration process by furnishing the necessary details like name, mobile number, email id etc.

Step-2: Filling the online application form - After that, fill the remaining part of the online application form without any mistakes.

Step-3: Uploading the documents - You have to upload the necessary documents as per the prescribed format includes passport size photo, signature and other required documents/certificates as given below.

Documents needed to upload

  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate/ Class 10 Certificate with DOB).
  • Hardcopy of GATE 2025 admit card or registration form.
  • Mark sheets/certificates for educational qualifications from Class 10 onwards.
  • A certificate for the conversion of CGPA/grades to the percentage of marks issued by the Institution/University from where the concerned has obtained the degree.
  • For SC/ST/OBC/EWS category candidates, Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by the Government of India.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued in favour of the Candidate employed with Govt. departments /PSUs / Autonomous bodies.
  • The OBC caste certificate containing the Non-creamy layer clause should be valid and issued not before April 1, 2025.
  • Certificate from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction she/he had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that she/he had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980 to December 12, 1989 for age relaxation.
  • Persons with Disability (PwD) Certificate/Document in support of Ex-serviceman.
  • Certificate issued by the concerned state authority in support of the claim that the candidate belongs to Project Affected Family (PAF) of CVPPPL.

Step-4: Application fee payment - The application fee can be paid through online mode only - Debit/Credit Cards, Net Banking & Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets.

CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025 - Selection Procedure

  • Candidates should apply and appear for the GATE 2025 exam which was held on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025.

  • Applicants are required to apply for Trainee Engineer (Civil) post through the official website of CVPPPL.

  • Candidates need to have a valid GATE 2025 score to get qualified for the CVPP recruitment through GATE 2025. They will be placed in the merit list on the basis of GATE score.

  • According to the Agreement of CVPPPL Promoters, 49% of employees shall be permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir, subject to their suitability, availability and eligibility.

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the merit of GATE 2025 scores and available vacancies. Those who are selected will be issued an “appointment order”.

CVPP Recruitment through GATE 2025 - Service Agreement Bond

The selected candidates will have to execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve the company for a period of four years including the period spent as Trainee. In addition, selected candidates will also be needed to provide a Surety Bond on non-judicial stamp paper of required value.

Since you need to change your surname, the best option is to contact the GATE organizing institute through their official support email or helpline and explain your issue with valid proof like your Aadhaar or school documents. They sometimes allow corrections in genuine cases, but it depends on their approval. Make sure to keep all documents ready when you contact them.

Balancing Engineering semester exams with competitive exam preparation can feel confusing but with right and realistic routine makes it very achievable.

Start by dividing your day into two parts: use college hours and afternoons for semester prep and keep early mornings or late evenings for GATE prep.

Make weekly targets instead of daily pressure, revise class notes on the same day.

Use weekends for mock tests, previous year papers and deeper revision.

Try to limit social media, study in 40 to 50 mins focused blocks and take short breaks.

Most importantly stay consistent and give yourself patience.

If you are interested in Development Studies and planning to appear for GATE XH C6 (Sociology), then you are already moving in the right direction. Having a backlog does not disqualify you from pursuing higher studies, as long as you clear it before the admission process begins. Since you mentioned that you can clear the backlog before February 2026, it should not affect your eligibility for PG admissions. Most universities require a completed bachelor’s degree with no active backlog at the time of admission.

Your CGPA of 6.9 is acceptable for many institutes, although some top institutes may have higher cutoffs. Your interest in sociology and Development Studies will be helpful because the GATE XH paper tests conceptual understanding. If you prepare consistently and score well in GATE, you can apply to reputed institutes offering Development Studies such as IITs, TISS, JNU, Azim Premji University, and others.

Focus on clearing your remaining backlog and continue your GATE preparation strongly. If you balance both, you can build a good academic profile for admission into Development Studies. All the best.
