I had to run through some numbers and I now have an estimate of the seat distribution for Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at VIT Vellore.

So, in total during Phase-I, somewhere close to 10,000 registered for the counselling but since Computer Science got over by 4000 ranks

The percentile score is calculated for a candidate for his/her slot. All the slots are combined and the final list is created based on the percentile score as calculated.

So your ranking is completely dependent on your score and the number of candidates appearing for the exam.

does vi  consider marks ob ained in 12 board exam

Hi Akanksha. Actually VITEEE rank predictor is not exactly correct. Because it predicts according to the present year's paper cutoff and no.of students that appeared for the exam and previous year's rank analysis. So may not get the correct result.But it doesnot vary very much,it varies slightly.

VIT follows Equipercentile Equating method for deciding ranks.Percentile is also based on how you score in each subject.So they prepare ranks according to percentily only. According to me they will give  ranks only.

VIT Amaravati is a new campus, whose intake would start from last year for the very first time.

So, there would be no clear idea for how many marks or rank is required in VITEEE to get a seat in amaravathi.

However my guess will be that people will prefer

VIT is one of the best private engineering most sought after colleges in India, and getting into it is a big deal.
category 1 of VIT is for the students who have to pay a low amount of fees than others and have the top 20000 rankers in it.

let me tell you will be considered only when the you have the passed over certificate during the time of councelling or else if you fail to produce them they will eliminate from the addmission as the passing the 12th is the basic eligiblity of the addmission
