Is NATA score enough to join NIT Trichy? Or do I need JEE score?

Ishan Katoch 21st Jul, 2022

Hi Swetha,

Only 2 NITs accept NATA score, these are:

  • NIT Trichy
  • NIT Calicut

So YES , NATA Score is enough to join NIT Trichy , even without JEE Main.

Here is more information on NATA :

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture, is conducted by National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture, which is a body of Council of Architecture, New Delhi in India. The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national level examination for admission to undergraduate courses in architecture.

These are other colleges that accept NATA : https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-engineering-colleges-in-india-accepting-nata

  • SRM University Chennai - SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
  • DSCE Bangalore - Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering.
  • MSU Baroda - Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
  • LPU Jalandhar - Lovely Professional University.
  • MSRIT Bangalore - Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

i have passes 12th std with 60% but i Dont meet the criteria of aggregate 50% in pcm ( i got 40 in maths ,44 in physics and 50 in chemistry ) so will i be able to get admission in architecture college after having a good score in nata ?

Piyush kesarwani 9th Jun, 2022

Hello aspirant,

Calculating your aggregate PCM(Physics, chemistry and Mathematics) score in class 12th, you have got 44.67% in class 12th, which is below the required eligibility criteria for admission into various architecture colleges. So, Inspite of scoring good marks in NATA, you cannot take admission in Architecture colleges.

As per Council of Architecture regulations, a candidate applying to any school / colleges of architecture in India should have 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 40% score in NATA, i.e. at least 70/200.

Further, to know more about the NATA eligibility criteria, admissions, syllabus, etc  - you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/exams/nata

I hope that this will help.

i got 90% in boards so have much should i score in nata for a good college

Satyendu Shukla 7th Jun, 2022

Good Afternoon

Hope you doing good, As per your query you got 90% in boards so according to me 120+ in NATA will be enough for a good college because NATA marks out of 200 will be converted into marks out of 100 and your 12th marks will be added to it which will give you your Final Merit score. Anything above 130 will get you into a very good college (Private) and a score above 150 is required if you want admission in a government college.

Hope you found it helpful

All the Best

I have scored 101 mark in nata exam 2022 and have 95 percentage in +2 board exam will I be able to get admission in Govt engineering college

Sayan 10th Jul, 2022

Hello Wazmia,

Your admission score will be calculated as 1/4 of your NATA score plus 1/2 of your board exam percentage, which equals merit.

This is calculated as follows: 25.25 + 47.5 = 72.75

It is a respectable but not ideal score. Good enough to get you into a mid-level architecture school. In other words, getting into any government college will be challenging. Check the colleges' cutoffs from the prior year. Only take into account those having cutoffs of at least 70 or 65.
