My sons JEE mains percentiile score is 91. He is coming under OBC-NCL quota. What are his chances of getting admission in NIT Calicut [Homestate]? If eligible, which branch(es) can he get?

Sach Thadani 16th Aug, 2022

Greetings!

91 is a respectable percentile, however it is not enough to make into NIT Calicut, due to OBC and homestate quota, he may get some other lower branches like production engineering or something of that sort, getting CSE or electrical related branches is not going to be possible

Hi, I am expecting around 70-80% in PCM class 12th in CBSE (batch of 2022). I wish to take a drop year to prepare for jee 2023 and since NTA has waived off 75% criteria for NITs (in JEE 2021 and 2022) for covid batch, considering if i get <75% in boards will I be able to get in NITs in JEE 2023?

Vishwathiga J 7th Jul, 2022

Dear aspirant,

The waiving off of the 75 percentage criteria has not been made as a policy decision yet. So, if they don't waive it off next year, we can't say for sure if they'll make exceptions for the droppers. All this depends on how the COVID situation turns out

anushkasrivastava073 16th Aug, 2022

Dear Candidate,

There will be no problem as such. You can give the exam in 2023 without any worries. Just prepare well and be consistent with your studies and you can crack the exam without any difficulty. Since, you are going to drop a year, aim for IITs. Prepare well

I counted my marks of JEE main 24th June shift 1 from the answer key , I got 35 marks , what will be my percentile?

Vishwathiga J 7th Jul, 2022

Dear aspirant,

It is hard to predict the percentile as it varies heavily from year to year, and depends on the difficulty of the question paper and on students writing the exams with you. Based on previous year cut-off we can safely assume that your percentile would be somewhere above
