what is opening and closing rank in jee advance could any one plz give me clarity about it

Opening rank indiactes the best rank holder (1) individual had opted that particular stream in a particular college.

Closing rank indiactes the last rank holder (62) who has been alloted that seat.

Hello Batta Nandani,

In JEE-ADVANCED registration you need to submit some of the documents to prove that you are eligible for it.

The eligibility criteria is that you should qualify JEE-Mains as per your category and you should either be in top20 percentile or 75% in Std.XIIth boards.

I you did typing mistake..Instead of 89.1 you wrote 8.91.

If you scored 89.1 percentile and you belongs to OBC category then Yes you are eligible for JEE advance..OBC cutoff For advance is 74.5 approx.

Hello Nischay,

First thing to keep in mind is that percentile and percentage are two different terms. You get scored in 12th in percentage while in JEE mains you get percentile.

Now addressing your issues; the eligibility for NITs IIITs GFTIs is based on your 12 percentage and you need

Hi,

Please see Part 1 Section 3 on Page 7 of the JEE Advanced 2016 information brochure .your  category will be treated as per the one you have entered in your JEE Main form and cannot be changed now. Whether or not an unique case, this change is not possible

As your mentioned you belong to SC category. The cutoff for qualifying to JEE advance from JEE Mains for SC category has been set at 54. 0128155 percentile. Anyone securing a percentile equal to or more than the prescribed cut off percentile for SC category will be eligible
