Considering you to be a general category student, it is difficult to get a seat in IITs. But it might work if you fall under some category, please check your eligibility and give it a try if possible.

 According to the guidelines for anyone to be eligible to admission into IITs, he/she must have scored at least 75% in board examination or must be among the top 20 percentile in that exam. So, yes they do matter but they only decide your eligibility not your merit.

The cutoff for SC category of JEE Advanced 2018 was 64/360 .Since it is expected that the cutoff for this year would be slightly higher than previous year it is difficult to clear the cutoff at this marks.Anyways lets wait for the results.
