Hi there , for appearing in Jee advance B. Arch paper you must qualify the Jee Mains paper for B.Arch only . You need not to qualify BE / B. Tech jee main paper for giving Jee adv B. Arch paper.

Yes you can change the category. As you mentioned that you have the certificate of EWS category, you can use it as a supportive document while taking admission through JEE Advanced. You need to be careful of filling the application form of JEE Advanced. Make sure you select the EWS
