Hello there,

With a 2,000 rank in JEE Advanced, you have a very strong chance of securing a seat in an IIT. However, the branch and specific IIT will depend on the competition and seat availability. Here are some possibilities:

  1. Top IITs (like IIT Bombay, Delhi, or Madras): You might get core branches like Civil, Chemical, or less competitive branches.

  2. Mid-tier IITs (like IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad): You could get branches like Electrical, Mechanical, or even CSE depending on the specific IIT.

  3. Newer IITs (like IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Gandhinagar): You could get top branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical.

You'll likely have a variety of options, so it's important to carefully consider branch preferences and institute reputation.

I would recommend you to use JEE ADVANCED college predictor tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

sir/mam, if i gave 12th in 2024, attempted advance in 2024, but took a drop , didnt go for 2025 attempt and gave jee advance in 2026... is that possible???

Ayush Kushwah 20th Jun, 2024

Yes, it is possible. According to the current JEE Advanced eligibility criteria, you can attempt the exam a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. So, if you gave your 12th exam in 2024 and attempted JEE Advanced in 2024 but did not attempt in 2025, you are still eligible to give JEE Advanced in 2026.

Additionally, the 24/7 doubt-solving feature of Arivihan allows you to get your doubts resolved anytime, making it easier to understand complex concepts. Regular mock tests and quizzes help you assess your preparation level and improve your time management skills. The app also provides detailed performance analysis to help you identify your strengths and areas that need improvement, ensuring a focused and effective study plan.

By using Arivihan, you can streamline your preparation, stay on track, and enhance your chances of success in JEE Advanced 2026.

Best of luck for your studies and exams!

Abhishek 20th Aug, 2024

Hi there,

Hope you are doing fine.

Congratulations on getting 4826 rank in the jee advanced examination.

The cutoff for the various government engineering institutions  keeps changing every year depending upon a lot of factors like the previous year closing rank, the number of seats available, the difficulty level of the examination and the number of applicants.

You can check the previous year cutoff by visiting the official website of the josaa and the csab counselling authority and then checking the opening and closing ranks for the various programs and courses offered there.

Also, you can take the help of our official college predictor which will help you in finding the best matched colleges according to your rank and score. The link of the predictor is mentioned below:

Abhishek 20th Aug, 2024

Hi there,

Hope you are doing fine.

Given your current JEE Advanced rank of 23000 (OBC 6000) and JEE Mains rank of 35000 (OBC 10000) retaking the exams in 2025 is a good option if you are looking to improve your standings.

You can assess your past preparation to identify areas for improvement and consider if you can commit to another intensive study period.

Also you can explore existing options with your current ranks and you might find good opportunities even now. Balancing your decision with potential alternative paths can help you make the best choice for your future.

Hope this resolves your query.
