i got 79 percentile in JEE Mains january 2019. am i eligible for jee advanced for this year??

Hello dear, 

According to your percentile in jee mains your general rank will be above 2 lakh and with this percentile you have very less chance to qualify for  jee mains and become eligible for jee advanced, you can go for next attempt for good percentile.

There are certain criterias that the candidate has to fulfill to be eligible for JEE Adnvanced. 

  • Candidates appearing for JEE Advance must qualify JEE Main and secured a position among top 2,24,000(for 2019).
  • From this year, candidates of age more than 25 years are also eligible to apply for JEE.

It can not be predicted exactly that you will qualify or not .

As per the january session you re qualified because nearly 2.2 lakhs students will qualify but your rank will be declared after April exam because your rank will depend upon April exam and the strength

As from this year system is changed now your rank will depend upon your percentile score ( this is done to equalise all the sets of papers held in different slots). So you have to secure a good percentile score for admission in good college nearly 2.2 lakhs students

Hi,


Out of the 2,24,000 students who will be selected for JEE Advanced 2019, 50.5% candidates will be from Common Merit List (General category); 27% candidates from OBC list; 15% from SC merit list; 7.5% from ST merit list and almost 3% from PWD (Person with disabilities) merit list.

As you have scoring 80-120 marks in jee mains, so there is no  assurance of qualifying jee mains for this range of marks under general category, so the  chances of getting 1500+ rank in jee advanced is very less .if you want to get 1500+ rank in jee
