The admission into IISc will be done on the basis of merit list of the qualifying examination. The merit will be prepared on the basis of national level entrance exams. IISc offers admission to Bachelor of Science (Research), M.Tech/M.Des/M.Mgt, Ph.D / M Tech (Research) and Ph.D (integrated) courses. Candidates can check the admission process of IISc for various courses from below sections.
IISc will provides admission to UG courses on the basis of national level entrance exams like KVPY SA, SB, SX; JEE Main, JEE Advanced and AIPMT. To take admission into IISc, students have to appear any one of the national level entrance exams. The authority will release the cut-off marks category-wise for all the exams separately. The counselling for UG courses (JEE Main) will be held for the selected candidates in the month of June 2018. The counselling for UG courses (JEE Advanced/NEET UG) will be organized in the month of July 2018. It will be conducted through offline mode at the “UG administrative building” in the IISc campus.
It is compulsory for the candidates to participate in the counselling process to confirm their seats in the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme. If candidates are selected, they are required to complete the admission formalities including payment of admission fees on the same day and begin attending the classes immediately. The seats will be filled up based on the rank and availability of the seat. At the time of counselling, candidates have to produce their offer letter. For KVPY stream candidates, they also have to produce their provisional fellowship award letter.

Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel
State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel

For taking admission in IISER you have to satisfy any of these criteria:
(1) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
(2) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
(3) State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)
Your jee main rank will not be accepted for the admission. You have to clear JEE advanced and score within 15000 crl rank.
