You can apply for this colleges. You have chances to get almost all NITs.

Hi Kanhaiya, I would like to tell you that this score is very tough to get through to any PSU jobs being a general category student. The cutoff for Psu are very high for general category mech student, wherein you need to have score of 700+. However you can try

For the gate score mentioned you have chances to get some IITs like Madras, Bombay, dhanbad, kharagpur , roorkee , kanpur

You have also high chance of getting top NITs.

You have not mentioned you stream so we can't predict accurately. But for 498 score you have very low chance to get any of psu for any stream. You may get some of college for further studies.
