There won't be any serious problems with your name difference in your gate score card and the official documents.
In the worst case scenario you might be required to provide some proof of identity. Also you can provide proof of relation to your father and mother.

So the maximum rank to get IIT seat is top 10000.if you get rank in between 1to 10000 then you will be easily placed in iits.If you get above 300marks ,its high enough to get into iits.200above also good score which leads ti get seat in nits.
