As you asked if these subjects will come and biotechnology then dear student . I would like to correct you that  Msc plant breeding will come under agriculture engineering (AE) while genetics will correctly come under biotechnology (BT) domain.  I hope this was helpful to you.

You can check the status of your application at GAOPS website. If your application says "under scrutiny" there is nothing to be really worried about it. The scrutiny process will continue even after the application portal has  been closed. Wait until the scrutiny is completed on your application form. Only

As you can apply for the gate examination-2020 .the admission of the gate examination will be take on the month of June/may -2021 . So during that time you can Clear the backlogs before the admission procedure.

Chances of getting preferential location is very difficult to predict.Though in most of the times candidates get the location they choose and there is no relation of it regarding late apply.But nothing can be said for sure so you can only hope.
