Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
Question : Mukesh has twice as much money as Soham. Soham has 50% more money than Pankaj. If the average money with them is Rs. 110, then Mukesh has
Option 1: Rs. 155
Option 2: Rs. 160
Option 3: Rs. 180
Option 4: Rs. 175
Correct Answer: Rs. 180
Solution : The average money of three persons = Rs. 110 The sum of money of three persons = 110 × 3 = Rs. 330 Let the share of Pankaj be Rs. $2x$. Share of Sohan $=2x×\frac{150}{100} = 2x×\frac{3}{2} = 3x$ Share of Mukesh $=3x×2 = 6x$ According to the question, $2x+3x+6x = 330$ ⇒ $11x = 330$ ⇒ $x = 30$ The share of Mukesh = 6 × 30 = Rs. 180 Hence, the correct answer is Rs. 180.
