See ur the marks ur son have got is just above the cut off score of Architecture as per the previous year records i.e 43.9. Since the paper this came a bit different which results in the fluctuation of the cut off marks.

yeah!! in India most of the colleges accept the GATE score for doing Mtech where as for PSU recruitment as well while there are other exams that you can have admission like the college entrance exam conducted by colleges of private universites ,

Yes, there is a chance but that too (50-50). As this time paper was bit easy hence competetion will be tough but still consedering OBC_NCL there is a chance.

You can also try for IIT Roorkee or Guwahati as it will be quite easier as compared to IITM.
