Hello there,

Yes, you can appear for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) if you have 75% in Class 10 , as the eligibility criteria for JEE don't require a specific percentage in Class 10. However, for JEE Main eligibility, the focus is on your Class 12 marks.

Eligibility for JEE Main:

  • Class 12 or equivalent exam : You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.

  • Minimum marks : For general category students, a minimum of 75% in Class 12 (or top 20 percentile in the board exam) is required. For SC/ST, the minimum is 65% .

  • If you're still in Class 12 or preparing for it, you can appear for JEE Main, provided you meet the above requirements in your final exam.

Since your Class 10 marks are not directly considered for eligibility, focus on performing well in your Class 12 exams to meet the criteria for JEE Main.

Hello student,

As per the latest available information, the JEE Main 2025 Mathematics syllabus includes the study of conic sections, specifically parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola , along with their standard forms, foci, directrices, eccentricity, parametric equations, and equations of tangents and normals.

Therefore, the topics of tangents and normals in conic sections are not deleted from the JEE Main 2025 syllabus.

It's important to note that the syllabus for JEE Advanced 2025 may differ from JEE Main. For instance, the JEE Advanced 2025 syllabus includes equations of tangents and normals for conic sections.

To ensure comprehensive preparation, it's advisable to refer to the official JEE Main and JEE Advanced syllabi released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the respective conducting bodies. These documents provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the exam syllabus.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello Sachin,

To secure a rank under 200 in the OBC category for JEE Advanced , the required marks can vary depending on the difficulty of the exam, the performance of candidates in that particular year, and the normalization process. However, as a general guideline:

  • In previous years, to get a rank under 200 in the OBC category, you would typically need to score around 230-250 marks (out of 360) in JEE Advanced .

  • Keep in mind that the exact cutoff can fluctuate each year, so focusing on consistently improving your preparation and aiming for a high score is essential.

Additionally, the cutoff for JEE Advanced depends on factors like the overall difficulty level of the exam and the number of candidates appearing, so it's always a good idea to refer to the official cutoff trends once the exam is conducted.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hi Heera,

  • Year of Passing Class 12:

    • If a candidate passed their Class 12th board exams in 2023-24 (after failing in 2022-23) , their year of passing is considered as 2024 .
    • For JEE Advanced, candidates can only attempt the exam in the year they pass Class 12 and the year immediately after.

  • JEE Advanced Attempts:
    • The maximum number of attempts allowed is two consecutive years after passing Class 12.
    • Since the candidate officially passed Class 12 in 2024, they will be eligible for:
      • JEE Advanced 2024 (the year of passing).
      • JEE Advanced 2025 (the year immediately after).

  • JEE 2023 Attempt:

If the candidate attempted JEE Advanced 2023 while technically failing Class 12 in 2022-23, that attempt will not count because they were not eligible to appear at that time. Only valid attempts made after officially passing Class 12 count toward the two attempts. The candidate will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024 and 2025, provided they meet other eligibility criteria. Their participation in JEE Advanced 2023 (if any) will not be considered a valid attempt. For more information regarding this, you can check out the given link.

Best Wishes!

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-eligibility-criteria

According to the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria, the number of attempts is counted based on the first appearance in the Class 12th examination. Here’s how it works:

  1. Attempt Count Based on First Appearance in Class 12:

    • If a student fails in Class 12 in the year 2022-23 and then appears and passes in 2023-24, the JEE Advanced eligibility rules will consider the 2023 appearance (when they first attempted the exam) as the first attempt.
    • The JEE Advanced attempt count is based on the first appearance, even if the student fails and appears again in the following year. This is because the first appearance in the Class 12th examination is what counts.
  2. Eligibility for JEE Advanced 2024 and 2025:

    • For JEE Advanced 2024, the student would be eligible as they have passed their Class 12th exam in 2023-24. This would be considered their first attempt .
    • For JEE Advanced 2025, the student can attempt it as well, as they would still be within the 2-attempt limit, which is valid for two consecutive years after passing the Class 12 exam.

In conclusion, if a student fails in 2022-23 and passes in 2023-24, their first attempt will be considered the 2023 appearance, and they will be eligible for JEE Advanced in both 2024 and 2025, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.

Hello Shanvi,

Based on the current rules and your situation:

  1. JEE Attempt Count: The JEE Advanced attempt count is based on the year in which you first appeared for the Class 12 exams. Since you were absent in 2023-24 and didn't appear for any exams, this year will not be counted as an attempt.

  2. 2024-25 as First Attempt: Since you are appearing in 2024-25 as a regular candidate, this will be considered your first attempt for JEE Advanced eligibility.

  3. Eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025 & 2026:

    • Your first JEE Advanced attempt will be in 2025 (for the 2024-25 session).
    • You are eligible for two attempts (2025 and 2026), as the attempt count is reset with the first valid appearance in the board exams.

Hence, you will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025 and 2026, with 2024-25 considered as your first attempt year.

Hope it helps !
