JLEE is Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Examination. The criteria specified by ASTU, explains the age criteria, academic qualification, pass percentage and other criteria for having the suitable candidate for exam.  candidates must have passed minimum of 3 years from any Polytechnic institution which is affiliated to SCTE (State Council Of Technical Education) . Candidates must have passed the diploma with minimum 45% marks and 40% for SC and ST. Also the only residents/people of  Assam are eligible for giving this JLEE exam. Joint Lateral Entry Examination (JLEE) for Assam is conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University in the last week of May.

There is no Age limit to appear in the examination. So you can appear in it whenever you want !

According to one of the eligibility criteria candidates must have passed a recognized Diploma (Minimum 3 years duration) from any Polytechnic Institution affiliated to State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam. There is 4 eligibility rule. If you satisfy them all then you are eligible.

1. should have pursued and qualified diploma(>=3 years duration) from any polytehnic institution which is affiliated under state board of assam
2. Must have secured 45% minimum aggregate. if belongs to SC/ST then minimum aggregates is 40%.
3. candidates who are permanent resident of assam are eligible. No other candidates are allowed
4. candidates who are in their final  year can also apply provided they have to produce original certificate and marksheets.

There is minimum age limit which is 17.Maximum age limit is not given.

The eligibility for admission in the information brochure of JLEE exam is as follow

Eligibility For Admission

To be eligible for Admission to any of the Colleges a candidate must fulfill the following conditions:-

(a) Recognized Diploma of Minimum 3 years duration from any Poltytechnic

Institution of Assam under State Council of Technical Education (SCTE)

(b) A minimum of Overall 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) must be scored in the

Polytechnic Course.

(c) Candidate must be a Permanent resident of Assam.

Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply but they must have to produce their Original Mark sheet along with Pass Certificate of the Final Diploma on the day of Admission.

They didn't mentioned the age limit in the information brochure, according to my understanding there is no age limit to apply for the exam.
