To get IITs you need to score good marks in JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced maximum marks are not defined :

Maximum Marks vary every year like below:

2016- 372
2015 - 504
2014 - 360

You should score more than 50% marks to get good branch in Top IITs.

To get a good rank in JEE Advanced focus on improving your problem-solving speed,  which requires continuous practice.

You can also solve as many as MCQs for your practice, refer previous year papers and complete mock test series to know your strengths and weakness.

Opening rank means the first student which get admission it that Branch and the closing rank means the last student get admission in that branch according to rank.in jee mains you get home state quota and other state quota.

1.) Revise your strong topics, one or two daily. And make key notes and formulas out of them. Write them down in a notebook.
2.) Practice previous papers (1990-2016). At least one paper daily.
3.) Keep revising and practicing.

Hi,
To get into good IIT's , considering your caste category as well, you can aim above 450-500 marks to get into core branches like CSE, ME, ECE etc.
