Retest (improvement) in 1 subject or all subjects does not have any relation with the number of attempts in JEE Advanced. Despite any improvement, your total number of attempts will be restricted to 2 only, that too will depend on your date of birth and qualifying year of 12th/equivalent

JEE Advanced previous years question papers will help you to improve your preparation for the upcoming exam. By attempting the previous years question papers you will be able to understand the exam pattern, type of questions asked in the examination and will also help to boost your preparation
Sorry to say IIST provides admission only through JEE Advanced for UG, you will have to qualify JEE Main and Advanced with required rank to get admission at IIST.
