Yes, you can get admission in M.tech through GATE or TS PGCET.You need to qualify in either of the entrance exam to get admission and you need to fulfill local or non-local status.The eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed in B.tech with 50% aggregate for general category and for reserved categories it is 45% aggregate.

I think you should write both of the exams to increase the chances for admission in msc course.
you may also apply for IITJAM exam , which is the entrance exam to admission in top iits, nits in msc course.

you have to get syllabus of the exam. look what books are prescribed and chapters to be covered.
look for prescribed books. Study chapters wise as per your choice. Study material might not be available in bulk. You have to search chapter wise or content wise. it is difficult to get as post graduate study material is not easily available.

you can try for government engineering college which is located in your domicile state. You can use home state quota. IIT accept score above 550 and goes upto 700.
NIT will be hard as accepted score will be above 500. There is good chance for government college. Apply for them. Even go for universities. They are also recognized and have good performance.
