My passion began at East Point College, where I developed a strong interest in electronics and energy systems. Professionally, I’ve continued in this space, adapting to the industry's evolving demands. Over the years, I’ve published 20+ international research papers and hold two patents in energy innovation. A career highlight was being featured on India TV during the lithium reserve discovery in Jammu & Kashmir—a moment that connected national significance with my area of expertise.

Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?

Mr. Pandey: My professional journey began in 2012, shortly after completing my engineering degree at East Point. I was fortunate to be approached by a China-based multinational through a professional networking site that had recognized the technical articles I had published. I joined them as Country Head (India) and Field Application Engineer, a dual role that allowed me to lead operations while staying deeply engaged in engineering and product development. Early exposure to international teams enriched my understanding of global business, customer relations, and advanced energy technologies.

In 2024, I founded a company dedicated to IoT R&D and manufacturing, integrating hardware with smart connectivity. My journey remains anchored in energy, innovation, and building the future of smart technology.

Careers360: Is the industry work different from what you learnt at East Point College of Engineering & Technology?

Mr. Pandey: The technical concepts and fundamentals I learned at East Point provided a solid foundation. However, once I entered the industry, I realized that things move at a much faster pace. It’s more about solving real-world problems, collaborating with teams, and staying current with evolving technologies and client demands.

One key factor that helped me transition smoothly was the internship I completed during college—it offered valuable exposure to the corporate environment and hands-on project experience, which significantly boosted my confidence and problem-solving abilities.

Careers360: How do you think your time in East Point College has added value to your life, both professional and personal?

Mr. Pandey: During my East Point college years, I gained far more than academic knowledge. While pursuing my degree in Electronics and Communication, I actively participated in FELCOM (Forum of Electronics and Communication), a student forum that played a key role in shaping my personal and professional growth.

What made the experience even more enriching were the vibrant student life and excellent campus facilities. The well-equipped sports grounds and gym helped me stay active and balanced, while the sophisticated library provided a space for deep intellectual exploration. The support and mentorship from the faculty, along with the friendships I built, played a big role in helping me grow into a well-rounded individual.

Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined East Point College?

Mr. Pandey: When I joined East Point College, I was both excited and a little nervous. Coming from Gujarat and being away from my family for the first time, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Like many students, I hoped to build a strong academic foundation and find opportunities that would shape my career. I had heard about East Point’s strong reputation for academics and student support, so I was optimistic that it would help me grow—both intellectually and personally.

There were a few initial adjustments, especially with the food—but over time, I actually started enjoying South Indian cuisine! From day one, my goal was to make the most of the experience, explore my interests, and grow both professionally and personally—and East Point turned out to be a great platform for all of that.

Careers360: You must have spent a memorable time at your East Point College. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.

Mr. Pandey: Absolutely, I do miss those days. Life at East Point was truly special—a perfect blend of learning, friendships, and personal growth. One of my fondest memories is organizing the National Level Technical Fest for the first time. From late-night planning and running around for sponsorships to designing promotional content and coordinating logistics, it was an exciting and enriching experience. It taught us teamwork, leadership, and resilience—lessons that extended far beyond the classroom.

Spending all four years in the hostel created a second home for me—full of support, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.

Mr. Pandey: My East Point college life was a balanced mix of academics, self-learning, and personal growth. Days began with classes focused on strengthening core concepts. Post-college, I’d head to the Internet Lab to explore new-age technologies and write technical articles, which kept me updated with industry trends. The library became my second home, where I delved into books beyond the syllabus, driven by curiosity for emerging tech.

Evenings were more relaxed—walks with friends, conversations over tea, and moments that helped build lasting bonds. After dinner, I’d nap briefly, then spend the night on research, my most productive hours. I also took part in events like paper presentations and Robo Wars, gaining hands-on exposure.

Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did East Point enrich your life?

Mr. Pandey: Beyond academics, I was actively involved in organizing technical events and workshops at college. One of the most memorable experiences was coordinating technical fests that brought together students from various institutions, creating a vibrant atmosphere of innovation and learning. These events sharpened my leadership, planning, and teamwork skills.

Another key highlight was getting involved in research early on. Even during my third semester, we were guided and supported to pursue innovative projects. Presenting our ideas on different platforms helped me gain hands-on experience in technical problem-solving and shaped my interest in innovation.

Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements, and what was the role of the East Point institute in it?

Mr. Pandey: During college, I took every chance to learn beyond the classroom. I often studied reference materials and engaged with faculty to discuss real-world applications of concepts. Conversations with our HOD, who shared valuable industry insights, helped broaden my perspective.

The college also offered industrial visits, internships, and seminars, giving us practical exposure. Placement training sessions on communication, aptitude, and interviews further built our confidence and prepared us to face placement drives with a strong and positive mindset.

Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of this top College. What is the best part of East Point Institute from a student's perspective?

Mr. Pandey: The best part of my time at East Point was the unwavering support from both the college and the department. Whether it was organizing fests, participating in events, conducting workshops, or working on innovative projects, we were always encouraged—never told “no.” This support gave us the freedom and confidence to think big and act boldly.

East Point wasn’t just a college—it was a life-changing experience. It helped me discover my strengths, conquer my fears, and shaped me into the person I am today.

Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the Engineering Course aspirants?

Mr. Pandey: Along with academics, it’s crucial to engage in technical activities that shape your future. Don’t limit yourself to classroom learning—participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, and competitions to gain exposure to real-world challenges and industry trends. In today’s digital era, information is easily accessible. Use the internet wisely to explore new tools, stay updated, and sharpen your skills.

My advice to aspiring engineers: build both technical and soft skills, and craft a strong personal brand. Aim to reach a point where companies seek you out—let your knowledge, skills, and attitude open doors, not just your résumé.
