Careers360 brings an interview with Anubhav, alumnus of NIIT University who shares details about his career progression, memorable experiences, and the course pursued at NIIT University Neemrana. Go through the interview to learn more about alumnus’s campus life and experiences.
Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in, or did you switch?
Anubhav: I currently work at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP in the cybersecurity domain. My role involves conducting internal audits, performing risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple sectors. During college, I was particularly interested in data analytics and systems security, so my current work is a natural extension of those interests. I didn’t switch domains—I grew deeper into the one that always intrigued me.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Anubhav: After graduating from NIIT University in 2020, I joined a consulting firm as a cybersecurity analyst. Over the years, I worked on various client projects that involved process audits, threat analysis, and compliance testing. This experience laid a strong foundation for my current role at Grant Thornton, where I’ve been able to take on more complex responsibilities and contribute to enterprise-level security solutions.
Careers360: Is the industry work different from what you learned at NIIT University?
Anubhav: Yes. The fundamentals taught at NIIT University—like network security, information systems, and analytics—gave me a strong base. But the industry demands constant upskilling, especially in cybersecurity, which evolves rapidly. The university prepared me to adapt quickly, which made the transition into the professional world smoother.
Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professionally and personally?
Anubhav: My time at NIIT University helped shape me both as a professional and as a person. The curriculum was industry-aligned, but more than that, it encouraged a mindset of curiosity and continuous learning. On the personal front, the friendships, mentors, and campus life experiences built my confidence and communication skills—traits that are invaluable in any career.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined NIIT University?
Anubhav: I was looking for a university that offered more than just classroom learning. I wanted hands-on exposure, industry interaction, and an environment that supported innovation. NIIT University checked all those boxes. I was especially impressed by its focus on emerging tech domains and real-world learning through the Industry Practice semester.
Careers360: You must have had a memorable time at your college. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Anubhav: I miss campus life all the time! The serene Neemrana campus, the late-night project sessions, and the endless debates at the mess table—those moments were special. One of my fondest memories is participating in tech fests and hackathons that ran through the night, having pizza, coffee, and team spirit.
Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do, and your routine life.
Anubhav: Life at NU was a mix of learning and living. My day usually started with classes in the morning, followed by project work or lab sessions in the afternoon. Evenings were spent either preparing for presentations or chilling with friends around the amphitheatre. I was also part of the Cybersecurity Club and participated in organizing technical workshops.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in, and how did they enrich your life?
Anubhav: I was actively involved in various student clubs and event committees. Organizing fests like IngeNUity taught me leadership and project management skills.
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements, and what was the role of the institute in it?
Anubhav: NIIT University ensured we stayed aligned with industry trends through guest lectures, industry mentor sessions, and case study discussions. The mandatory industry practice in the final year was a game-changer—it gave me firsthand exposure to corporate work culture and current technologies.
Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of this top college. What is the best part of NIIT University from a student's perspective?
Anubhav: The best part is its emphasis on experiential learning. The university's curriculum is structured around real-world problems, not just theory. The mentor system and one-on-one guidance from faculty members create a nurturing environment where students can truly thrive.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the BTech Cybersecurity aspirants?
Anubhav: Be curious and stay updated. Cybersecurity is an ever-evolving field that demands constant learning. Take every opportunity to work on real-time projects. Most importantly, build a strong foundation in both technical skills and ethical responsibility.

On Question asked by student community
Manipal Jaipur is a better choice for most students. It has a more popular name and a better reputation than NIIT Neemrana. The job placements at Manipal Jaipur are stronger, with big companies like Microsoft and Amazon visiting the campus. The campus is bigger, more active, and has lots of student clubs, events, and tech fests. You'll get more chances for internships, competitions, and real world exposure.
On the other hand, NIIT Neemrana is good for practical learning and has some industry tie-ups, but it's smaller, less known, and doesn't offer the same level of placements or student life.
So overall, if you want better job opportunities, campus experience, and exposure, Manipal Jaipur is the better option.
Hello Aspirant,
Congratulations for your result. In order to predict college first you need to calculate the exact rank. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.
But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 61 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 398970 - 448500 and your SC rank will be 20k+. You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
In order to get a seat in NITs, you need to score at least 9k - 10k SC rank, or 85 percentile as per past year trends.
Thus, with 61 percentile, chances are very low for NITs that too in top branches.
