TANCA Counselling and Seat Allotment 2018 - Anna University conducted the TANCA 2018 counselling and seat allotment from August 28 in offline mode. Anna University had published the TANCA 2018 counselling schedule and the format of “intimation of counselling” containing details about the process in online modem, prior to its commencement. Before appearing for the TANCA counselling 2018, candidates had to download the call letter by entering their application number, name and date of birth. Shortlisted candidates had to physically report at the centre for document verification. Separate merit list was prepared for GATE and TANCET qualified candidates. During the counselling process, TANCA 2018 seat allotment was done based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the merit list and their preference mentioned in the application form. Candidates who had meet the eligibility criteria were allotted seats into the participating institutes under TANCA 2018 counselling. The application form of TANCA 2018 was available in online mode from July 6 to 17. Candidates who had qualified TANCET and GATE 2018 were able to register for the TANCA counselling 2018 by filling the online application form. TANCA Counselling 2018

 

TANCA 2018 conducted counselling process from August 28 to 31 in offline mode. Candidates shortlisted based on their rank in merit list and order of their preference had to physically report at Anna University for the TANCA 2018 counselling and seat allotment process. Before reporting for TANCA counselling 2018, candidates had to download their call letter by entering their credentials. While allotting the seats, GATE 2018 qualified were given preference over no-GATE one.

 

How to Register for TANCA 2018 Counselling

 

To register for counselling, candidates had to fill and submit the application form of TANCA 2018 which was available from July 6 17 in online mode. To fill the TANCA 2018 application form, candidates had to register by submitting their personal, academic and contact information along with the payment of application fee. Only registered candidates will be allowed to participate in TANCA 2018 counselling session.

 

Documents to be carried for Verification

 

Candidates will have to carry mentioned below documents, both originals and photocopies to the counselling venue for verification: If a candidate has deposited all of the certificates where he/she is already been admitted, then a letter from the head of that institution need to be produced. Attested photocopies of the documents will also be accepted in such cases. Given below are the original documents need to be produced:

  • Qualifying degree certificate, provisional certificate and marksheets of all semesters or consolidated mark sheet.

  • Scorecard of GATE 2018

  • TANCET 2018 hall ticket for TANCET category applicants

  • Marksheet of class X

  • 1Marksheet of class XII

  • Transfer Certificate from Institute last attended.

  • Community Certificate (if required)

  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

  • Nativity Certificate (if applicable)

  • Copy of Identification Certificate obtained from recognized authorities.

  • Passport and letter registered in Police Station (For Sri Lankan Refugee candidates)

  • Experience Certificate (if applicable)

TANCA Counselling Fees

 

During the TANCA 2018 counselling process, candidates had to pay Rs.5,300 (Rs.1,150 for S C/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) in the form of a Demand Draft or cash. The counselling fees includes a non-refundable fee of Rs.300 towards counselling fee (Rs.150 for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu). The Demand Draft had to be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University” payable at Chennai.

Once seat was allotted to the candidates the amount of Rs.5,000  (for SC/SCA/S T Rs,1,000) was adjusted towards the tuition fee to be paid to the respective allotted college.

What If Candidates Miss The TANCA 2018 Counselling session?

In case candidate was unable to attend the counselling of TANCA 2018 due to any unforeseen and unavoidable reasons on the scheduled time and date, he/she can :

  • Authorise his/her parent on his/her behalf. In this case decision of the parents were considered the final one. The call letter needs to be submitted by the parents at the time of counseling. Along with this parents had to produce a photo identity of any one among these- voter Id, driving license, PAN card or passport.

  • Candidates could also attend the counselling session at a subsequent time/date during the ongoing process. However, candidate could only opt for the seats available at the time of attending the counselling and cannot claim seat as per his/her rank.

TANCA Seat Allotment 2018

After the successful verification of documents and payment of fees candidates were allotted seats. The seat allotment of TANCA 2018 was done based on the rank obtained in GATE 2018 or TANCET 2018 and as per the reservation norms of Government of Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, availability of seats during counselling session was also considered while allotting the seats to candidates. What candidates must be aware of was that, GATE qualified candidates were given preference over TANCET one.

 

Reporting to allotted institutes

Candidates who were allotted seats had to report at their institutes with the payment receipt, seat allotment letter and other documents mentioned above. To confirm the admission, candidates had to pay remaining tuition fees. In case candidate fails to report at the allotted institute or pay the fees, his or her candidature was stand cancelled.

 

Key Points Related to TANCA 2018 Counsellling and Seat Allotment

  • All admissions to TANCA 2018 participating institutes are made through single window system are provisional.

  • Admission conducting authorities reserve the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.

  • College/branch once allotted to the candidates will not be changed under any circumstances.

  • Admission into the participating institutes of TANCA 2018 were offered depending upon the availability of seats based on the merit of the candidates and in order of their preference.

  • GATE qualified candidates with GATE 2016/2017/2018 scorecard were allowed to participate in TANCA 2018 counselling. Unfilled seats, if any, under GATE category, were transfigured to TANCET category in the respective communities.

  • Before appearing for counselling, candidates had to download call letter by entering application number of TANCA 2018, date of birth and and name.

  • Shortlisted candidates had to appear for counselling according to their cutoff mark.

  • Candidates were advised to report two hours before the TANCA 2018 counselling session irrespective of receipt of individual communication.
