Careers360: Please give us an introduction of yourself.
Krishna: My name is Krishna Kumar. I am from Patna, Bihar, and I am currently pursuing BTech in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at NIELIT. I am passionate about technology, especially AI, and I'm always eager to learn new things and take part in hands-on projects.
Careers360: How would you describe the overall campus environment of NIELIT?
Krishna: The campus environment at NIELIT is peaceful and academically oriented. It provides a good balance between learning and personal growth. The faculty members are approachable, and the campus is generally welcoming and disciplined.
Careers360: How student-friendly are the administrative processes at NIELIT?
Krishna: The administrative processes are fairly smooth. Most of the staff are helpful and cooperative. Though there can be occasional delays, overall, the system works efficiently, and students can get their queries addressed in a reasonable time.
Careers360: Are there any unique aspects of NIELIT campus life that you think set it apart from other institutions?
Krishna: One unique aspect is the focus on emerging technologies like AI, ML, and IoT as part of the curriculum. Also, NIELIT’s national network and collaborations give students opportunities beyond just academics.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty during the initial months of your joining the institute?
Krishna: Like many students, I did face some challenges adjusting to a new environment, such as understanding the academic structure and connecting with faculty. But with time, I adapted well, and the seniors and faculty were supportive during that phase.
Careers360: How would a typical day at the NIELIT campus look like for you?
Krishna: A typical day starts with classes, followed by lab sessions or project work. Afternoons might include workshops or guest lectures. Evenings are usually free for self-study, group discussions, or relaxing with friends on campus.
Careers360: Are there active student clubs (technical, cultural, or hobby-based) at your NIELIT campus?
Krishna: Yes, there are a few active student clubs, especially technical clubs related to coding, robotics, and AI. Cultural clubs also organize events during fests and special occasions.
Careers360: Does the NIELIT campus organize tech fests, seminars, or student events?
Krishna: Yes, NIELIT organises tech fests, coding competitions, webinars, and seminars with industry experts. These events provide a great platform for students to showcase their talents and learn new things.
Careers360: Have you had opportunities to participate in inter-NIELIT or external events/competitions?
Krishna: Yes, students are encouraged to participate in inter-NIELIT events and external competitions like hackathons, innovation challenges, and tech contests. These opportunities help build confidence and teamwork skills.
Careers360: What would you like to improve about campus life at your NIELIT campus?
Krishna: One area that can be improved is the availability of more recreational spaces and better internet connectivity across the campus. More structured club activities and regular events could also make campus life more vibrant.
Careers360: Are there enough hangout spots or common areas on campus? If yes, then which one is your favourite and why?
Krishna: There are a few hangout spots like the canteen area and the open spaces near the academic blocks. My favourite spot is the lawn near the library — it's quiet and a great place to relax or study outdoors.
Careers360: Share a memorable moment from your time spent at the NIELIT campus.
Krishna: One memorable moment was when our team won a mini hackathon organised by the campus. It was a great feeling to apply what we learned and see it appreciated. The teamwork, pressure, and final success made it unforgettable.
Careers360: What advice would you give to a new student joining NIELIT?
Krishna: Stay curious and proactive. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and interact with faculty and seniors. Participate in events, join clubs, and use every opportunity to learn and grow. Time flies quickly, so make the most of your college life!
