Q. Tell us something about yourself.

A: My name is Khushmeet Singh, and I am currently in the 8th semester of my BTech in Mechanical Engineering at Swami Devi Dyal College. From a young age, I have been fascinated by how machines work, which naturally led me to pursue mechanical engineering. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in subjects like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I am actively involved in various extracurricular activities. I am a member of the college’s Robotics Club, where we design and build innovative projects, and I have participated in several inter-college competitions, winning accolades for our work. I also enjoy playing football and have represented my college in various tournaments.

My time at Swami Devi Dyal College has not only honed my technical skills but also fostered my leadership and teamwork abilities. I am passionate about leveraging my education to contribute to advancements in sustainable engineering solutions.

Q. How did you come to choose Swami Devi Dyal College and what factors were instrumental in your choice?

A: I chose Swami Devi Dyal College for my BTech in Mechanical Engineering due to its strong reputation for academic excellence and comprehensive education. The college’s rigorous curriculum and experienced faculty were significant factors, ensuring a solid theoretical and practical foundation in engineering.

The state-of-the-art infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories and modern workshops, was also instrumental in my decision. These facilities provide essential hands-on experience, crucial for a mechanical engineering student.

Additionally, the college’s emphasis on holistic development through various technical clubs, sports activities, and cultural events appealed to me. This balanced approach fosters personal growth and helps develop essential soft skills like leadership and teamwork.

Q. What were the salient features of the admission process at Swami Devi Dyal College that struck you as unique?

A: The admission process at Swami Devi Dyal College struck me as unique due to its comprehensive and student-centric approach. A: My initial days at Swami Devi Dyal College were both exciting and crucial for building a foundation. The college facilitated a smooth transition with a well-organised orientation programme that introduced us to campus life, academic procedures, and available resources. This period was instrumental in understanding the processes and establishing important contacts.

One of the standout features was the support provided by both faculty and senior students. The faculty conducted detailed sessions explaining the curriculum, available facilities, and academic expectations. Their approachability made it easy to seek guidance and clarify doubts.
