S.K. Gupta: Roorkee College of Engineering (RCE) was established in 2010 by a distinguished group having experience of more than two decades of running technical institutions. Though Roorkee is the hub of engineering education with several top leading internationally known institutions namely IIT Roorkee, CBRI Roorkee, NIH Roorkee, IRI Roorkee and Indian Army Cantonment etc., yet emphasis of RCE has been to provide high-quality education to the regional aspirants in general but to poor rural population in particular. RCE is provided with updated infrastructure, highly educated and experienced faculty, good campus and hostel facilities.

Careers360: Tell us something about admission process.
S.K. Gupta: All seats are to be filled as per the norms of the State Government and on the basis of merit in JEE. All the seats are to be filled under one category of fees as decided by the State Government/State Fee & Admission Committee.
Admission to B.Tech, 2nd Year (Lateral Entry) is based on the inter-se merit of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University on the months of April-June. The candidate is required to have passed three years Diploma in Engineering of State Board of Technical Education from an AICTE approved institution in the appropriate branch of engineering/technology in aggregate of all semesters OR must have passed three years B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university and should have passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.

Careers360: What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute?
S.K. Gupta: Roorkee College of Engineering offers classrooms with projectors and speaker system (Smart Class). Theater style lecture halls, smart classroom, modern labs, conference and seminar halls, a gym, an amphitheatre, a high-tech learning resources centres are also provided to the students.The RCE library collectively supports the teaching, research and extension programmes of the institute. The library has subscribed for 84 National /international Journals & Magazine. RCE Library is a member of DELNET (Developing Network) New Delhi. The laboratories are well-equipped with the latest instruments and equipments lo provide a thorough hands-on learning experience.
The college provides well furnished hostel accommodation to its students, separately for boys and girls within the college campus. The hostels provide reasonable levels of comfort, hygienic food, recreation facilities and conducive environment for the pursuit of academics and all round development. All the rooms have been designed to provide an adequate moving space, airy and well lit. Each hostel has its separate mess with well equipped kitchens and dining areas. RCE has spacious cafeteria which provides snacks and beverages at nominal charges to students, faculty and visitors alike.
The college also provides the students with a cemented basketball court, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, badminton court, football field, cricket field, and athletic ground and gymnasium facilities. Round the clock medical facilities are available for all students and staff
Careers360: Industry interaction is being stressed by AICTE well as the companies that recruit. What are the steps taken by the institute in this direction?
S.K. Gupta: Roorkee College of Engineering focuses on Training & Placement. From the last year of establishment almost all the students are placed in reputed companies. Also, a dedicated cells is established which conducts:-

The recent trends in education in India is to focus more on practical knowledge, skills and effective communication also with the digital education platform we can learn from anywhere and anytime. The focus on education also goes for measurement of students’ outcomes and performances in both offline and online medium. In the academic year 2015-16 Roorkee College of Engineering,Roorkee (RCE) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SIDCUL Manufacturers Association, Uttarakhand, for promoting and reinforcing cooperation, joint collaborative work in R&D projects, curriculum development, internships and placements, infrastructure development, improvement of research and academic programs and also exchange of experts and researchers. Mahindra & Mahindra, Hero Honda, Munjal Showa, Bajaj, Sandhar, Alupan Composite Panel, Indo Asian Fuse gear, Hindustan Unilever, Exide Industries, Eveready Industrial Ltd, Rockman Industries Ltd, Lumex Industries, Montex Pen Industries, Hindustan National Glass & Industries Ltd and many more. MOU with SIDCUL (the state industrial development corporation of Uttarakhand Limited, which is an Enterprise of govt. of Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand) has also been established. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. MOU was established on January 1, 2016.
Bhagawanpur Industries Association was constituted in the year 2006. It was the time when Uttarakhand was trying to establish itself on the Industrial map of India and the Government of Uttarakhand was inviting Industries to put up their establishments here. The Govt. established SIDCUL and other industrial estates and also declared private lands eligible for setting up Industries. MOU was established on November 10, 2015.
Careers360: Internship is now mandatory by AICTE. Does the institute help the student with this? If yes, how?
S.K. Gupta: Prakash Javadekar, Union Human Resource Development Minister stated at the Lok Sabha that from now onwards it will be compulsory for engineering students across the continent to do a minimum of three student internships by the completion of their academic year. He added that “every student in technical institute should undergo three internships each spanning four to eight weeks before completion of his/her under-graduation course. The responsibility will be on the institute to help students find a suitable industry for the internship.”
In the same context, at Roorkee College of Engineering, Roorkee (RCE). focus is on for summer internship, NGO internship, final placement or live projects are organized by the student co-coordinators with guidance and support from the Corporate Relations and Placement Committee (CR&PC) team. Together, this group keeps in constant touch with the corporate houses and other key recruiting entities and with the alumni. We offer summer internships, winter internships, full-semester internships and round-the-clock virtual internships to students of all educational domains viz, Engineering, IT, Science, Humanities, Business, and Marketing. Interns contribute a significant piece of work which adds a lot of value to their profiles as well as to our Global learning project. Gupta: In Academic year 2016-17, Roorkee College of Engineering, Roorkee (RCE) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universidad Abierta Interamericana (UAI), Argentina (South America), for promoting and reinforcing cooperation, joint collaborative work in R&D projects, curriculum development, internships and placements, infrastructure development, improvement of research and academic programs and also exchange of experts and researchers.
Careers360: Please share placement statistics with information on average package, highest and lowest package, number of students placed and details of companies recruited.
S.K. Gupta: The Training & Placement Cell, Roorkee College of Engineering facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship and training program of students. The cell liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines.
Among all, the engineering department had achieved a placement of around 96% on an average of past 3 years. The salary packages include up to a maximum of 11 lakhs per annum. There are a lot of internship opportunities provided for students during their final year U.G and P.G projects. There are many students and alumni who are appearing for various competitive examinations.

what is the fee of b.pharma? are there any hostel facility also availble?

First of all RCE is one of the stupendous, valuable and rad platform for the students. The fee structure for B. Pharmacy maximum in between 328,000 per year /-. The hostel premises has a common TV room and state of the art indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The hostel campus has an excellent modern gymnasium with a trainer. The entire hostel premises are Wi-Fi enabled. Presently there is two in-campus boys hostel viz. Munna Lal Bhawan, Krishna Dev Bhavan with a total capacity of accommodating around 600 boys. Yeas there are three hostel for boys and one the hostel for girls, both hostels are separate from each other. For practice labs are available with all instruments and chemicals.

- Rai University, Ahmedabad (Fees-60k), Hostel is available.
- Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai(Fees-1.78k), Hostel facility is available.
