IIIT Hyderabad B.Tech Admission 2018 - IIIT Hyderabad has announced the cutoff of IIT Hyderabad B.Tech Admission 2018 through JEE Main. The admission authorities conducted admissions to B.Tech programmes through channels like JEE Main 2018, Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Examination - UGEE– CSD/ ECD/ CND/ CLD/ NK/ NTSE or KVPY, Olympiad, Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA) and Special Channel of Admission (SPEC). From this academic session, admissions were also provided through SPEC mode to students who fit the eligibility criteria. The application form for JEE Main qualified candidates was open till May 25, 2018. Application form for UGEE and SPEC was available till March 28 and through DASA mode till April 25, 2018. What's New in IIIT Hyderabad B.Tech Admission 2018

 

IIIT Hyderabad has introduced a Special Channel of Admission (SPEC) for single degree B.Tech programmes (ECE/CSE). Admissions through this mode are provided to those candidates with extraordinary talent or background such as selected in UDAAN or those candidates who have studied in a six year integrated 12th standard plus undergraduate programme. Only 20 seats are available for admissions through SPEC mode and the candidates are selected on the basis of the entrance examination and interview.

The eligibility criteria of IIIT Hyderabad B.Tech 2018 include the eligibility conditions required by the candidates to be fulfilled in order to be considered eligible for admissions at IIIT Hyderabad in B.Tech programmes through different admission channels. Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)

 

Must have completed class 12th class or equivalent by May 2018 or earlier with minimum 60% marks (or 6.0 grade on 10 point scale) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

 

For such candidates, taking AP Calculus course, AP Physics or AP Chemistry course is highly recommended.

 

Must also satisfy one of the following requirements:

 

Should have completed 12th or equivalent from outside India by May 2018 or earlier. The candidates should have scored at least 60% marks (or 6.0 grade on 10 point scale) in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

 

Must hold a foreign passport

 

Should have appeared in SAT and scored a minimum 1070 aggregate score (out of maximum of 1600) in SAT,

 

AND

 

Also required to have secured a minimum aggregate score of 2000 (out of maximum of 2400) in SAT Subject Tests in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Both scores are mandatory.

 

Scores of SAT will be mapped as per the new format using concordance tables available from College Board (USA).

 

Admission through DASA channel will be through the subject SAT (SAT II) scores. The main SAT scores are used to break ties. Anyone with valid SAT II scores but have not taken SAT, will be considered eligible to apply for admission. For tie-breaking, such candidates SAT score will be treated as missing or equivalent to zero.

Through the SAT and SAT Subject Tests Scores. Both are mandatory.

Before the last date of the application form, the test scores should be reported directly to IIIT Hyderabad by the college board.

The primary ranking criterion will be the total of SAT Subject Tests Scores in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.

All candidates will be ranked based on the total marks first.

In the case of a tie in total marks, the following marks (in the given order) will be used to resolve the same.

 

1. Maths of SAT II

 

2. Physics of SAT II

 

3. Chemistry of SAT II

 

4. Total score of SAT

 

5. Critical Reading of SAT

 

6. Mathematics of SAT

 

7. A tie after this will be resolved with an interview over Skype.

The admit card of IIIT Hyderabad for UGEE/SPEC/LEEE mode of admission was released on April 12, 2018. The candidates had to make sure that they took the admit card along with them on the day of the examination. Without the admit card, the candidates were not allowed to enter the examination hall.
