Hi dear candidate,

The Council of Architecture (CoA) needs a 10+2 and a diploma with mathematics subject being compulsory along with at least 45% overall aggregate marks. If you fulfil these conditions, then you are surely eligible for NATA entrance exam.

BEST REGARDS

Yes, it is possible. In PGCET, branches like CSE, ISE, and related specializations (like AI, ML, Data Science) are offered during counselling. If you are from EC background, you are eligible to opt for CSE/IT/Data Science branches in M.Tech through KEA. However, keep in mind that the cut-off for Data Science is quite high because it is in demand.

Thank you!

ECE at PES EC campus is considered good with decent placements, especially in core electronics as well as software roles since many students end up in IT companies too. If you are mainly interested in coding and want CSE, then waiting for 2nd round counselling can be an option, but you should be realistic getting CSE in top tier colleges may not be possible with your rank. If you are fine with PES EC and want a stable branch with flexibility for both core and IT jobs, then ECE is a safe choice. If your main aim is only CSE, you can wait for the 2nd round, but don’t expect a big jump into Tier 1 colleges.

Hello Aspirant,

If you want to be an astronaut and want to do an MS abroad, it is better to focus on a stream that has technical foundation and research opportunities. Here is your option:

  • ECE at PES University has good foundation in electronics, communication and embedded systems - all of which is relevant in space technology, avionics, robotics etc. PES has a better brand, better research exposure and globally tie-up which will help for MS abroad.
  • AI & ML at JSS Bengaluru is a hot stream and useful but JSS is not comparable to PES in terms of overall exposure, alumni network and brand globally. Also AI/ML fits more with data science and software rather than core astronautics.

First of all, congrats on getting into PES University, which is one of the most reputed private universities in South India. Now about your dilemma , EC at PES vs CSE in a Tier 2 college.

PES has great faculty, strong placements, and top companies regularly recruit from there. Even students from EC branch get into IT jobs if they learn coding well. So, if you’re okay with working hard on your programming skills and interested in a good campus + brand name, PES EC is a strong choice.

On the other hand, if the Tier 2 college you're considering has very strong placement records for CSE, and your passion is strictly software/coding, then switching might make sense. But in general, PES EC is a better long-term option, especially if you make use of the resources and keep upskilling.

Thank you!

Hello Prajna

The best combination in engineering is still considered to be Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

Although branches/specializations like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) or Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AIDS) have a bright future, still the leading branch is CSE core.

Hope this answer helps! Thank You!!!

Hi ,

Yes, if you hold a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, you are widely eligible for roles such as:

  1. Technical positions in telecom firms like BSNL, Airtel, Jio
  2. Design/Hardware roles in semiconductor or electronics industries
  3. Teaching posts in polytechnics or government engineering colleges through exams like AE or NET.

Make sure you check specific eligibility criteria in any recruitment notice. Your degree is recognized and valid in many central and state government technical recruitments.

Thank you and all the best!

1. Your REAP rank is 228 with EWS and Rajasthan domicile

2. MBM Jodhpur gives CSE and ECE seats to students below 300to400 rank

3. Your rank is very good so you can get CSE or ECE

4. Electrical and Mechanical seats also possible for your rank

5. You should fill all your choices from top to bottom

6. You have strong chance in first or second round allotment

Hi ,

The merit list in MHT CET is structured in a way to consider multiple categories: All India Merit, Home University Merit, and State Merit, among others. The most appropriate one for you depends on the type of institute you're applying to and your domicile status.

  • Home University Merit applies to students applying in colleges within their home region.
  • While state merit ranks all candidates from Maharashtra collectively.
  • And all India merit is used for candidates from outside Maharashtra or those applying under All India quota seats.

If you are from Maharashtra and applying to a college in your local region, your rank in the Home University list will be most significant. For autonomous or private colleges, they might look at the State Merit or even All India merit depending on the seat type.

Thank you !

Since you've been allotted Electrical Engineering at IGIT Sarang (4th choice) and your top 3 preferences are at VSSUT Burla which is a more reputed institute with better academics and placements it's wise to choose "Float" and try for a higher option in the next 2 OJEE rounds. If your rank is close to the previous cutoffs of your preferred branches at VSSUT, your chances are decent.

Also, if you're eligible for CSAB counselling (through JEE Main) and interested in getting into NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, you should participate. It provides another good opportunity, especially if your JEE rank is within range of those institutes' cutoffs.
