Ajeenkya DY Patil University in Pune offers a BTech in Aerospace Engineering that includes core subjects such as aircraft structures, propulsion systems, aerodynamics, and space technology. The course is designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure through labs and workshops.

The university claims to offer internship opportunities as early as the first year. Students are expected to work on real-world industry projects and attend technical sessions, but the actual quality and depth of these internships may vary depending on partnerships and student performance.

In terms of placements, ADYPU states that it has over 140 recruiting companies visiting for engineering branches. The average package for engineering students ranges between 4 point 5 to 6 point 5 lakh per annum. The highest package reported is around 19 to 21 lakh per annum. However, it is important to note that these figures are overall and not specific to aerospace engineering.

For aerospace specifically, placement opportunities may be limited unless you are exceptionally skilled or have completed strong internships. Core aerospace companies like ISRO or DRDO generally prefer candidates from top-tier institutes or those with competitive research backgrounds.

If your goal is strong placement and industry exposure in aerospace, ADYPU is not among the top recommended colleges. While it is improving, it still lacks the national reputation and alumni network that many recruiters look for in this field.

Better options for aerospace engineering in Maharashtra, excluding IIT Bombay, include College of Engineering Pune, MIT World Peace University Pune, and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology. These colleges have better industry ties and established academic records.

In conclusion, ADYPU can be considered if you are looking for an affordable private university with a developing infrastructure and are willing to build your own career path. However, for better placements and training, colleges like COEP or MIT WPU offer stronger value and recognition.

Hello Aspirant.

To get admission in IIST Thiruvananthapuram for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering 2026, you must qualify JEE Advanced with a good rank, preferably within the top 10,000–13,000 (varies yearly). You should have 75% marks in 12th (PCM). After JEE Advanced results, you need to apply separately on the IIST website (application usually opens around May-June). Admission is based purely on JEE Advanced rank + counselling. Focus on strong Physics, Chemistry, and Math preparation for success.

Good luck for your preparation.

Hello aspirant,

To get admission in the Dual Degree Aerospace Engineering (B.Tech + M.Tech) program at IIT Madras through JEE Advanced under the female quota, you should aim for a rank around 6000 to 6300 based on the previous year’s trends. In 2025, the closing rank for female supernumerary seats for this program was approximately 6279.  It’s always advisable to aim for a better rank to increase your chances of getting into this prestigious program. Keep an eye on the official JoSAA counselling schedule for updated cutoffs.

All the best for your preparation and future!

Hi aspirant,

Here are the top government institutions that are recognized for their contributions to aerospace or closely related fields:

  1. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay
  2. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur
  3. Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune
  4. College of Engineering Pune (COEP)
  5. Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai
  6. Ajeenkya DY Patil University
  7. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University

All the best!

hi,

With a VITEEE rank of around 121,000, admission into Aerospace Engineering at VIT Bhopal under Category 1 is extremely unlikely. In general, Aerospace is not as competitive as CSE, but their closing ranks for that branch in Category 1 typically stay under 12,000 to 15,000. Even lower-ranked categories usually close well before 50,000.

Reddit discussions and past trends show that students with ranks around 95,000 have sometimes managed to get Aerospace seats under higher categories (like Category 3 or 4), but those are the outer limits.

In your case, admissions for Aerospace would be unlikely unless the college dramatically changes its seat structure or demand drops sharply.

Hello dear,

You can get the pdf of CGMS exam on the official website of State Examination Board, Gujarat. Here's the link to get the pdf  (www.sebexam.org). You can get admit card, question papers, answer key and results on this website.

Dear Candidate ,
You can pursue a B. SC in Aerospace or related fields in a government college without appearing for JEE or CUET by applying to state University or government aided institutions that offer admissions based on Class 12 marks or conduct their own entrance exams .
To apply , check the official websites of such institutions during the admission season( usually June - July ) and ensure you meet their eligibility criteria.

Diploma in EEE is eligible for lateral entry (direct 2nd year) in some colleges.

  • Apply with Diploma Marks or Entrance Rank.

  • Attend Counseling / Admission Rounds.

  • Join in 2nd Year of B.Tech Aerospace.

Finishing a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, you can opt for a course in Aerospace Engineering.

You can consider lateral entry: Many engineering colleges give students who have a diploma the option to enter the 2nd year straight in a similar B.Tech program. Learn whether the college takes in students for Aerospace Engineering using lateral entry.

If you wish to join Aerospace Engineering but it isn’t offered as a lateral entry, try joining either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and move to Aerospace Engineering later.

You can be required to attend an entrance exam such as the state’s lateral entry test or a counseling session based on the marks you receive in your diploma.

You might look into private universities: They often let diploma holders be more flexible about starting in courses connected to aerospace.

If you cannot start with aerospace engineering lateral entry, you can apply after your bachelor’s degree in a related field.
