IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission 2019 - IIT Guwahati has ended the application process for M.Tech admission for the academic session 2019-20. Candidates will get admission to M.Tech 2019 at IIT Guwahati on the basis of their GATE 2019 scores. Students without a GATE qualification would also be considered for admission provided they have an excellent academic record and having B.Tech from any IITs. All the interested candidates had to fill the application of IIT Guwahati M.Tech 2019 admission. The last date to fill IIT Guwahati M.Techadmission 2019 application was April 10, 2019. Students who were applying through GATE score had to fill the application form available in online mode whereas, without GATE students, application forms had to be submitted in offline mode. Details about the admission process had been released on March 16, 2019. However, all the candidates were advised to check the complete eligibility criteria of IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission 2019 and then proceed to fill the application form. It is important to note that candidates will have to register at two places - at Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and at IIT Guwahati official website. If they register at only one of them, they will not be considered for M.Tech 2019 admission in IIT Guwahati. However, for candidates having secured a CGPA of 8 in their respective B.Tech programme at any IIT will be eligible for direct admissions to M.Tech programmes across IITs. For others, their GATE scores will be considered. The eligibility criteria of IIT Guwahati 2019 are all those parameters which candidates will have to fulfil to be considered for admission. These parameters include qualifying exam, subjects and marks.
Qualifying Exam - Candidates applying need to have qualified GATE 2019 exam with a valid score in the required GATE paper.
Qualifying Marks - Candidates should have secured a minimum CPI of either 6 on a 10 point scale or 60% of marks in their qualifying degree i.e. B.Tech along with completing all the specific requirements for different disciplines.
Qualifying Subjects - Candidates need to fulfil the following subject wise eligibility criteria corresponding to their M.Tech discipline in GATE 2019.

Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in an appropriate area and a valid GATE score in:
(a) `ME’ for the specializations of (i) Fluids and Thermal Engineering, and (ii) Machine Design; and
(b) `ME’ or `PI’ for the specialization of “Computer Assisted Manufacturing” only; and
(c) `ME’ or `Aerospace Eng.’ for the specialization of “Computational Mechanics” and “Aerodynamics and Propulsion” only.

Civil Engineering
For all specializations (other than Earth System Science and Engineering), Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology in an appropriate area and a valid GATE score in:
(a) `CE’ for the specializations of (i) Structural Engineering, (ii) Geotechnical Engineering, (iii) Environmental Engineering, (iv) Transportation Systems Engineering
(b) `CE’ or `AR’ for the specialization of “Infrastructure Engineering and Management”
(c) `CE’ or `AG’ for the specialization of “Water Resources Engineering and Management” only
For Earth System Science and Engineering specialization, 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/ Petroleum Engineering/ Mining Engineering/ Mineral Engineering/ Geoscience Engineering/ Agriculture Engineering/ Engineering Physics (or equivalent)/ Engineering Mathematics (or equivalent) with a minimum CPI of either 6.0 or 60% of marks OR Master of Science degree in Geology (or equivalent)/ Geophysics (or equivalent)/ Physics, Soil Physics with a minimum CPI of either 6.0 or 60% of marks OR Master of Science degree in Mathematics/ Chemistry and allied areas in natural sciences with a minimum CPI of either 6.5 or 65% marks, and a valid GATE score in `CE’ or `GG’ or `PE’ or `MN’ or `PH’ or `CY’ or `MA’ or `AG’.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in an appropriate area (having Mass Transfer, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Reaction Engineering, and Process Control, as subjects in undergraduate programme) and a valid GATE score in Chemical Engineering

Electronics & Electrical Engineering
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering or Equivalent or M.Sc (Electronics) or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and a valid GATE score in EC/ EE.
For `Power and Control’ specialization, a valid GATE score in `EE’ or `IN’ is a must.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area or M.Sc (Computer Science/ Information Technology) or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Computer Science & Engineering or MCA from a recognized Institution and a valid GATE score in CS

Master’s degree in Science or 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with biology or related subjects as one of the papers at the 10+2 level or later, along with a valid GATE score in related disciplines
Direct Admissions - Candidates having a CPI of 8 in their B.Tech from any IIT will be eligible for direct admissions. They will be exempted from appearing in GATE.
The application form of IIT Guwahati 2019 had been released on March 18. Candidates had to fill all the valid details in IIT Guwahati M.Tech 2019 application form.
Documents required before filling the application form
Candidates had to keep the following documents ready before they filled the application form of IIT Guwahati M.Tech 2019:
A scanned copy of recent coloured photograph (more than 15 KB but less than 80 KB) in (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) with file type of jpeg/ jpg/ gif only.
A copy of class X/ XII marksheet/ pass certificate as Date of Birth proof
Caste certificate, if applicable in image format (jpeg/ jpg/ gif format) with size more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB for uploading online. The OBC (NCL) certificate must be issued by the competent authority on or after April 1, 2018
PwD certificate, if applicable with size more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB
Scanned copy of pass certificate (original/ provisional) of the qualifying exam (more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB).
Consolidated Mark Sheet of the Qualifying Degree (more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB). This document have to be produced at the time of counselling, interview or test if called for that.
Candidates appearing in their final exam, must keep their marksheet of the previous year/semester of the qualifying test.
Scanned copy of Qualifying Degree Grade Point Average to Percentage conversion certificate or proof thereof (more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB)
Scanned Soft copy of your GATE/ CEED Score Card (more than 80 KB but less than 400 KB)
Attested copy of Certificates related to professional experience, etc (if applicable)
How to fill IIT Guwahati M.Tech 2019 application form?
The steps given below had to be followed by candidates when filling IIT Guwahati M.Tech application form 2019:
Step 1 - Click on the official application form link provided above: It was important that candidates read all the instructions before commencing the application form filling procedure.
Step 2 - Fill the details: All the information like personal, academic and communication as required in the application form had to be filled.
Step 3 - Uploading of photo: Upon filling of all the information needed, candidates also had to upload their photograph in the specifications prescribed.
Step 4 - Print out of the application form: Candidates had to take a print out of their filled application form. After taking the print out, do signature with date on the filled up online application form. This application form had to be send to the department of IIT Guwahati where applying for admission, only if called for written test/ interview/ counselling.
Note - In case of any mistake, candidates were able to make corrections or edit it within the time period specified.
IIT Guwahati M.Tech Selection Criteria through GATE 2019
In order to get admission to M.Tech programmes at IIT Guwahati, candidates will have to first apply at the IIT official website and then through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for accepting admission offers.
For M.Tech admissions at NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes through GATE 2019, the admission process will be different - Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. (CCMT). Candidates will have to fill the application form and apply for admissions through this process.
Candidates will be informed via SMS/ registered email about their admission offers. They will also be able to check their offers through candidate log in at the COAP portal.
For M.Tech admissions at NITs, IIITs and centrally funded institutions through CCMT, seats will be allotted to eligible candidates through counselling and seat allotment procedure.
