Hello,

Both BSc Biotechnology and Pharm D are good, but they are different fields.

BSc Biotechnology is more about research, lab work, and industries like agriculture, food, and genetics. It is good if you want to work in labs or go for higher studies like MSc or PhD.

Pharm D is a professional doctor-level course. It is best if you want to become a clinical pharmacist or work in hospitals and healthcare.

If you are interested in hospital jobs or clinical practice, go for Pharm D . If you like research and lab work, go for BSc Biotechnology.

Hope it helps !

Sure, I can help with that if I know which college you're referring to. Once I have the name, I can check if they offer a 3 year B.Sc. Biotechnology undergraduate course.

Hello aspirant,

Yes, the BNN College does offers BSc in Biotechnology course. It is a three years full time undergraduate program. The seat intake is 35.

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) cut-off for B.Tech Biotechnology for the OBC category last year varied based on the specific college and round of admissions. Generally, for colleges affiliated with SPPU, the cut-off for OBC candidates ranged from the 60th to the 80th percentile in the MHT-CET exam. Some colleges might have had cutoffs as low as the 25th percentile in earlier rounds, while others, particularly for popular programs or in later rounds, could have had cutoffs exceeding the 80th percentile.

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, B.Tech Biotechnology students can get opportunities at DRDO, but not typically through direct recruitment for Scientist or Engineer 'B' posts, which are mainly reserved for core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Science. However, Biotechnology graduates can still be part of DRDO through internships, research fellowships, and project-based roles in specific life sciences and biotechnology-focused DRDO labs such as DFRL (Defence Food Research Laboratory), DRDE (Defence Research and Development Establishment), DIPAS (Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences), and INMAS (Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences). These labs often offer Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Research Associate (RA), or apprenticeship positions for biotech students, especially those who qualify GATE or CSIR-NET exams. While full-time Scientist positions may not be open immediately after B.Tech, gaining experience through these fellowships can be a strong pathway into a research career with DRDO.

All the best for your future.

Yes, with a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) background, you can pursue a B.Tech in Biotechnology, especially if you've taken relevant entrance exams like NEST, CUET, or have appeared for NEET. While some B.Tech programs may require Mathematics as a core subject, many universities offer programs that accommodate PCB students, either through specific tracks or by providing bridging courses in Mathematics during the first year.
