QnA related to Engineering Physics

Ask your question related to Engineering Physics

Hello,

Hope you are doing great.

To answer your question before finalizing your decision on which college to choose, it's crucial to first determine whether pursuing Engineering Physics is a suitable option for you. Regardless of the college you ultimately select, it's important to gather key details before making a final decision. A career path after completing Engineering Physics may not be promising, particularly in securing on-campus placements. The demand for Engineering Physics graduates is limited, and only a few companies specifically seek candidates with this degree. Many companies have distinct recruitment processes that do not typically involve on-campus hiring, with the exception of government organizations such as DRDO, BARC, etc.

Hope this helps!!

Yes, MSc Tech Engineering Physics students can apply for the GATE exam. GATE eligibility is not limited to only BTech/BE candidates; students who have completed or are currently in the final year of a postgraduate degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Applications are also eligible. Since MSc Tech Engineering Physics is recognized as a postgraduate science-based degree, you meet the academic eligibility criteria for appearing in GATE.

You can choose the GATE paper that aligns best with your background and future plans. Most students with Engineering Physics choose papers like Physics (PH), Engineering Sciences (XE) or even Electronics/related disciplines depending on their coursework and career goals. Your GATE score can be used for MTech/PhD admissions in IITs, NITs, IISc and other institutes, as well as PSU recruitment where relevant.

So if you are in the final year or have completed MSc Tech Engineering Physics, you are fully eligible to register for the GATE exam. All the best.

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for your result. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.

But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 63 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 378510 - 425500 and your SC rank will be around 26k+. You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

In order to get a seat in NITs, you need to score at least 9k - 10k SC rank, or 85 percentile as per past year trends.

Thus, with 63 percentile, chances are very low for NITs that too in engineering physics branch.

If you want to check the chances of getting a college, you can go through our college predictor link which is given below:

Thank you and all the best for your future.

Hi,

As per your mentioned query there are only 2 NITs that offers admission in BTech Engineering Physics.

As you haven't mentioned your category so i am providing you information of open category.

NITs are top colleges that are all over India. NITs colleges are listed below and their previous year closing rank for the engineering physics course is mentioned below.

1. NIT Calicut

2021

Home state - 28861

Other state - 16397

2020

Home state - 33719

Other state - 16548

2. NIT Agartala

2019

Home state - 373515

Other state - 37914

2018

Home state - 409109

Other state - 38326

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well!

In my opinion JIMS Vasant Kunj 2 would be a better option than JIMS Rohini Sector 3, because JIMS Vasant Kunj's placement is better than the other. Also JIMS Vasant Kunj is rated higher than JIMS Rohini Sector 3.

Though both are almost equal, but in my opinion JIMS Vasant Kunj has got the upper hand.

Hope I answered your query.

Thank You.

Hi there. In response to your query, the answer would be that this factor is completely uncontrollable. To be honest there is no way to tell this as this cut off solely depends on how the eligible candidates fill their choices in sear matrix counseling, depending on that the results are formulated each year, hence the trend might change or continue.

Hope this answer helps; best wishes

Dear apsirant,

As per as my observation is considered most of the research astronomers have their degree in physics /astronomy or master degree in physical science mainly physics or astronomy.

To be at that level it takes around 7-8 years beyond the school education. Astronomers are normally good with computers in programming and with normal usage. They also have good mathematical knowledge.

So, you can absolutely pursue astronomy after clearing your b.tech degree with decent percentage of marks. You can opt for specialisation in astrophysics /astronomy.
