Question : Select the option that expresses the given sentence in indirect speech.

"I will help you," he will say to me.

Option 1: He says to me that he would help me.

Option 2: He will tell me that he will help me.

Option 3: He tells me that he helped me.

Option 4: He told me that he will help me.

Team Careers360 22nd Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: He will tell me that he will help me.

Solution : The correct choice is the second option.

Reported speech involves converting direct speech (spoken words) into indirect speech (reported words).

Narration Conversion:

  • The verb "say" in direct speech is changed to the reporting verb "tell".
  • The pronouns "you" and "I" are changed to "he" and "me" to reflect the change in reported speech.
  • The verb "will help" remains unchanged, as the tense remains unchanged.
  • The connector "that" is used to introduce the reported clause.

Therefore, the correct sentence is: He will tell me that he will help me.

Question : If the sides of a right-angled triangle are three consecutive integers, then the length of the smallest side is

Option 1: 3 units

Option 2: 2 units

Option 3: 4 units

Option 4: 5 units

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 3 units

Solution : Let one side of a right-angled triangle be $x$.
Shortest side = $x-1$
Longest side = $x +1$
Since the three sides form a right-angled triangle.
$(x+1)^2=(x-1)^2+x^2$
⇒ $x^2+1+2x=x^2+1-2x+x^2$
⇒ $x^2=4x$
⇒$x=4$
Thus, shortest side = $x-1=4-1=3$
Hence, the correct answer is 3 units.
