My name is Priyanshu Das. I have a question to my respected experts, I am now studying B.Tech. I have a supply in 3rd years 5th semester, Can I appear in GATE 2025 or eligible for Gate exam 2025?

Nitin Kumar 6th Jun, 2024

Yes, you can appear for GATE 2025 even if you have a supply in your 3rd year 5th semester (assuming you are currently in June 2024) as per the latest GATE eligibility criteria.

Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Arts/Commerce (minimum duration of 3 years) are eligible to appear for GATE.

Having a supply in a subject doesn't necessarily disqualify you from appearing for GATE.

So, you fulfill the eligibility criteria for GATE 2025 based on the current information available (June 2024).

my mark in neet 2024 is 570 which mbbs college i. can gate?

Akansha Sharma 24th Dec, 2024

With 570 marks in NEET 2024, you have a good chance of securing an MBBS seat in government medical colleges through the All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota, depending on your category and state domicile. Cutoffs vary annually, but with this score, you may target reputed state government colleges and some central universities. Participate actively in counseling, and check your state-specific quota and reservation policies to maximize your options.

BCA or BSc CS which is better for preparation of GATE

Tanya Gupta 27th May, 2024

Hello,

For GATE preparation, a BSc in Computer Science (BSc CS) is generally better than a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) because:

Course Content: BSc CS covers theoretical foundations and core computer science topics more comprehensively.

Relevance to GATE Syllabus: BSc CS aligns closely with the GATE syllabus, including algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, and theory of computation.

Depth of Knowledge: BSc CS provides a deeper understanding of fundamental concepts necessary for GATE.

hope this helps you,

Thank you

Akansha Sharma 4th Nov, 2024

With 50 marks in the CET, your chances of getting into an engineering college depend on the overall cutoff scores for the colleges you're interested in. Each college has its own criteria, and cutoffs can vary yearly. It's essential to check the specific colleges you want to apply to and see their previous year's cutoff marks. If your score is close to their cutoff, you might still have a chance, so don’t lose hope and explore all your options.

I clear my gate exam but having a backlog on 2nd and 3rd year and currently in my last sem of Btech Can I apply for Mtech counseling of CCMT 2024 with only 1st year marksheet.

Suganya M 29th Apr, 2025

Yes, you can register and apply for CCMT 2024 counseling if you’ve cleared the GATE exam and are in your final semester of B.Tech , even if you have backlogs. However, you need to follow specific rules:

Important Points to Know:

  1. Eligibility for Application:

    • You can apply for CCMT 2024 provisionally if you're in your final year and expecting to complete your degree by the time of final admission .

    • Even if you have backlogs currently, you’re allowed to participate in counseling , provided you clear them before the final reporting at the allotted institute.

  2. Required Documents During Registration:

    • Provisional certificate or a certificate from the Head of Institution (Format is given on the CCMT portal) stating that:

      • You're currently in the final semester of your B.Tech.

      • You will complete all degree requirements before the institute's deadline (usually around July or August).

    • You may not need to upload all semester mark sheets at the time of initial registration.

    • But during document verification , institutes may ask for previous semester mark sheets , including backlog subjects.

  3. Backlog Condition:

    • You must clear all backlogs before joining the M.Tech program.

    • Institutes will not allow final admission if your B.Tech is not fully completed or if you have uncleared subjects at the time of final admission.

  4. Documents Needed at Final Admission (after seat allotment):

    • Provisional Degree Certificate or Final Marksheet.

    • All semester mark sheets (up to 8th sem or last completed).

    • GATE scorecard, valid ID, category certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photos.

  5. Your Current Situation:

    • Since you're in the final semester , you should:

      • Apply with the certificate from the college head.

      • Keep all documents ready before physical reporting .

      • Track counseling deadlines , and ensure backlogs are cleared before admission cutoffs.

my gate score is eligible for some NITs(sc category) but I dont have 6 cgpa mine is 5.81 what should I do now? what are the chances that my seat gets canceled even if I participate in ccmt? can someone help me?

Akansha Sharma 24th Dec, 2024

Unfortunately, a minimum CGPA of 6.0 is typically required for M.Tech admissions through CCMT, even for reserved categories like SC. Since your CGPA is 5.81, your seat may get canceled during the document verification stage, even if you qualify for a seat based on your GATE score. You can consider improving your academic qualifications through supplementary exams or bridge courses, if possible, to meet the eligibility criteria. Contact CCMT officials or the institutes for clarification and guidance.
