MHT CET 2019 was conducted in multiples shifts and in all efforts to maintain equivalence, the authorities has used a normalization procedure for declaring the ranks of the candidates. Scores of the candidates is declared in form of percentile ranging from 0 to 100. Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all those candidates who appeared for MHT CET 2019. The topper of exam will get a Percentile of 100. The marks obtained in between the highest and lowest scores will also be converted to appropriate Percentiles. Candidates with lower most scores will get Percentile of 0. The percentile scores of candidates will be calculated upto five decimal places. The score of MHT CET 2019 can be calculated by using the below mentioned formula:
MHT CET Percentile Score = 100 * (Number of candidates in exam with normalized marks ≤ the candidate) ÷ Total number of candidates in the exam.
Candidate can understand the conversion with below mentioned example
For example in MHT CET PCM in which 276166 students appeared for the exam. To calculate the MHT CET rank 2019 rank, you first need to know the percentage of people ahead of you with higher percentile scores. To calculate that, the formula would be 100 which is the highest score minus your percentile score.
Since the percentile is calculated from a scale ranging from 100 to 0, the formula applies the total number of students which is 276166 /100 multiplied by the percentage of people who are ahead of you to arrive at the rank.
Therefore, the formula to calculate the rank is
Probable Rank = (100- percentile score) X 276166 /100
If percentile score is 90.70, rank will be (100-90.70) X 276166/100 = 25683
