MHT CET 2018 – The result of CAP round-II of MHT CET seat allotment 2018 has been released on July 9. Along with the round-II result, cutoff of MHT CET 2018 is also released. The provisional merit list and schedule for Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidates is also released. Earlier, the vacancy position of CAP Round-II was released on July 5 in online mode. Earlier, DTE Maharastra announced the MHT CET 2018 seat allotment for CAP round 1 in online mode on June 30. Along with allotment, the cutoff for Round 1 CAP was also published. DTE Maharashtra has commenced the counselling process of MHT CET 2018 from June 7. Eligible candidates could get their documents verified and application form confirmed at various facilitation centres till June 21. Earlier, the authorities had declared the result of MHT CET 2018 in online mode on June 3 in the form of score-cards. As per the official notification, exam authorities found three questions (two from Mathematics and one from Chemistry) to be invalid in MHT CET 2018 question paper. The authorities have decided to allot marks for the particular questions to all candidates who appeared in this examination, therefore keeping maximum marks as 200. In case of Biology question paper of MHT CET 2018, the question number 58 of version 11 (question number 73 of version 22, question number 88 of version 33 and question number 63 of version 44) option B is the correct answer instead of option C as stated in the provisional key. DTE Maharastra had released the provisional answer key of MHT CET 2018 on May 25 in online mode and challenges to the answer key/question paper were accepted till May 27. OMR sheet is available from May 26 to June 2 and June 5 to 7 in online mode.

DTE Maharashtra earlier on June 2 had declared MHT CET result 2018 details, including names of toppers. Abhang Aditya Subhash tops entrance in PCM with 195 marks out of 200 while Gandhi Mona Bhupendra is the topper amongst girls with 189 marks.
DTE Maharashtra conducted MHT CET 2018 in 36 districts at 1260 exam centres on May 10. The entrance test of MHT CET was held for 2 papers – Paper I for Mathematics (1.30 hours) and Paper II (1.30 hours) for Physics and Chemistry in offline or pen & paper based mode. Every year, over 4 lakh candidates appear in the state level engineering entrance test for admission to B.Tech programmes across the participating institutes. MHT CET has been re-introduced in the year 2016, as before that (in 2014 and 2015), the state level engineering colleges offered admission to candidates based on JEE Main score. 85% of the seats in the state engineering colleges will be filled through MHT CET, while 15% seats in private unaided colleges/ institutions of Maharashtra state will be filled on All India Quota basis for which candidates have to appear in JEE Main.

What's New in MHT CET 2018
20% weightage in the MHT CET 2018 examination will be given to 11th standard syllabus while the remaining 80% weightage will be given to 12th standard syllabus.
The difficulty level of MHT CET 2018 will be raised and be almost equal to JEE Main in terms of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and NEET for Biology.
The approximate number of questions based on 11th standard will be 10 and from 12th standard will be 40. The questions will be application based.
- Questions will not be asked from the chapter on complex numbers of Class XI in MHT CET 2018.
The application form of MHT CET 2018 has been released earlier this year. In the previous year, the application form was made available in the second week of February.
The final merit list of MHT CET 2018 has been released by the authorities on June 24. DTE Maharastra has separately prepared and released the MHT CET 2018 final merit list. Candidates can view and check the merit list of MHT CET 2018 by entering their application ID and date of birth. Candidates could also file their grievances against the merit list of MHT CET 2018 till June 22. Admission to B.Tech programmes across the participating institutes of MHT CET 2018 will be offered based on the merit list/rank list of MHT CET 2018. DTE Maharashtra published the provisional merit list of MHT CET 2018 on June 21.

The vacancy position of CAP Round-II is released by the authorities in online mode on July 5. MHT CET 2018 seat allotment for CAP Round 1 has been announced on June 30. Candidates have to login to download their allotment letter. The counselling and seat allotment of MHT CET 2018 has commenced from June 7 and will be conducted in three rounds. MHT CET counselling 2018 is a Centralized Counselling Process (CAP). The admission committee may also hold an additional CAP round to fill vacant seats if the need arises. Counselling and seat allotment of MHT CET 2018 will be done according to the merit list of MHT CET 2018, with candidates placed higher getting precedence over lower ranked candidates.
MHT CET 2018 counselling includes the following steps

Step 3: Display of provisional merit list of eligible candidates

During the counselling process, candidates have to participate in choice filling and locking. There are also options like freeze, slide, and float, which allow a candidate to be flexible with their options. After the final CAP round, candidates who have been allotted seats have to report at the institution finally allotted to them to confirm their seats.

MHT CET 2018 cutoff for Round 1 has been released by the authorities. The cutoff of MHT CET 2018 includes the opening and closing ranks of a particular branch at a college between which admission into B.Tech/B.E. programmes is offered to candidates. Thus, candidates have a rank less than the MHT CET 2018 cutoff are not eligible for admission. The official answer key has been released by DTE Maharashtra on May 25 in online mode. Based on the complaints/feedback and challenge of the MHT CET answer key 2018 received till May 27, DTE has released a notification announcing marks for three wrong questions that were found in the question paper. These marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared in the exam. The exam conducting authority will also release the scanned OMR sheets of the candidates from May 26 to June 2 and June 5 to 7 in online mode. Earlier, leading coaching institutes like Rao IIT and Spectrum Classes have released the MHT CET 2018 answer keys. The MHT CET 2018 answer key includes correct answers to the questions asked in the paper of MHT CET 2018. Candidates who have taken MHT CET 2018 can compare their answers (which they have opted for or marked in the answer sheet) with the official answer key of MHT CET 2018.

The admit card of MHT CET 2018 was available in online mode from April 24 to May 10. It must be noted that MHT CET 2018 admit card was available for only those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form for the test and paid the application fee. In order to download MHT CET 2018 admit card online, candidates had to enter their application number and password (entered at the time of the application filling). Candidates must note that MHT CET admit card was a very important document and no candidate was allowed to sit for the test on the scheduled day if they do not possess the admit card of MHT CET 2018. DTE Maharastra extended the last date to fill and submit the MHT CET 2018 application form with late fee of Rs. 500 till April 4. Before filling the application form, the candidates had to carefully check if they meet MHT CET 2018 eligibility criteria. Candidates also had to keep digital/ scanned copies of their photograph and signature (which had to be uploaded in the online application form) in the prescribed format before they started to fill the application form.

It was quite important for all candidates planning to appear in MHT CET 2018 to check carefully all the eligibility conditions before they applied for the test. MHT CET 2018 eligibility criteria varies from candidates belonging to different categories, home state and from states outside Maharashtra. Eligibility criteria of MHT CET 2018 include eligibility conditions related to age, qualifying examination, marks scored in the qualifying exam, number of attempts, etc.
General category candidates must have scored minimum 50% aggregate marks in class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognised board/ University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while reserve category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates need to have scored 45% and above in class 12th.
DTE Maharashtra conducted MHT CET 2018 at various exam centres in 36 cities and towns of Maharashtra. The number of test centres of MHT CET 2018 may go up or down as per the exam conducting authority’s decision. While filling the application form of MHT CET 2018, the candidates had to choose exam centres of MHT CET where they want to appear in the state level test. The exam pattern of MHT CET 2018 was determined by DTE Maharashtra, the exam conducting body for the state level engineering entrance test.
