Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
Hello,
Yes, even if you fail in the preparatory course, you can still write JEE next year. The preparatory course is only for reserved category students (like SC/ST/PwD) who didn't qualify for the regular IIT admission but were given a chance through the preparatory course.
Failing in it will not stop you from writing JEE Main or JEE Advanced again next year, as long as you meet the age limit and attempt limit.
Hope it helps !
Congrats on your PREP ST rank 228 in JEE Advanced 2025! With such a good rank in the preparatory category, you have a strong chance to get a preparatory course seat in IITs. The preparatory course helps you join core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Computer Science after one year based on your performance. IITs like IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, or IIT Roorkee may offer you a seat. Stay confident and apply carefully during counseling!
Hello! Scoring 79 marks in JEE Advanced is a good effort, but qualifying depends on the category and the cutoff for that year. Usually, the cutoff marks vary for different categories like General, OBC, SC, ST, etc. If your son belongs to a reserved category, he might qualify. It’s best to check the official JEE Advanced cutoff list for 2025 on the official website to confirm. Keep supporting him, and good luck!
If your domicile certificate is from Rajasthan, your school in Gujarat might ask for proof of local residence too, because usually schools prefer the domicile of the state where the school is located . But it depends on the school’s rules, so you should check with them directly.
For the state board exams, generally you need to follow the board of the state where you are studying. So if you are enrolled in a Gujarat board school, they will follow Gujarat’s rules, not Rajasthan’s domicile.
For JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) , your domicile doesn’t usually affect your eligibility to appear in the exam itself, as JEE is a national exam. However, for state quota seats in colleges, domicile can matter. So if you have a Rajasthan domicile, you might be considered for Rajasthan state quota seats, not Gujarat’s.
Hey there! based on your ranks i.e, 247680 in JEE Mains and a rank of 9231 in KCET 2025, here are some top colleges you can get in Bangalore;
Use KEA mock allotment to better understand your chances ones it's out. All the best!
Congrats on your JEE Advanced ranks! With an OBC-NCL rank of 2500 and open rank of 8500, you have qualified JEE Advanced. Your intermediate marks (81% first year, 74.8% second year) meet the minimum eligibility criteria for JoSAA counseling, which usually requires at least 75% in 12th or equivalent. So yes, you are eligible to participate in JoSAA counseling for IITs. Make sure to register on the official JoSAA website and choose your preferred colleges and branches carefully. Good luck!
Congrats on your JEE Advanced rank 11,800 in OBC-NCL! With this rank, you have a good chance to get admission in newer IITs like IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Ropar, IIT Jodhpur, or IIT Mandi. You may get core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or even Computer Science depending on seat availability. Prepare well for JoSAA counseling, choose your preferences wisely, and keep backup options ready. Stay positive and all the best for your IIT journey!
With a JEE Main rank of 35,000 under the EWS quota, securing admission to COEP Technological University (COEP Tech) or Walchand College of Engineering (WCE) Sangli in Maharashtra is highly unlikely through the All India Quota.
COEP Tech is among the top engineering colleges in Maharashtra, and its EWS quota cutoffs are quite competitive. For instance, in 2024, the closing ranks for various branches under the EWS quota were:
Computer Science and Engineering : 395
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering : 1,165
Mechanical Engineering : 5,631
Manufacturing Science and Engineering : 11,142
Metallurgy and Material Technology : 18,989
These figures indicate that even the least competitive branches had closing ranks well below 35,000.
75% eligibility criterion for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced pertains to the aggregate marks obtained in the entire Class 12 (or equivalent) examination , not solely the second-year marks.
The assertion that only second-year marks are considered for the 75% eligibility criterion is incorrect . For both JEE Main and JEE Advanced, the aggregate marks of the entire Class 12 examination are taken into account.
Yes, you can join IIT after JEE Advanced if you meet the minimum eligibility criteria for 12th marks. Usually, you need at least 75% overall in Intermediate or equivalent (or be in the top 20 percentile in your board). Your 1st-year marks are 89% and 2nd-year marks are 74.83%, which average around 80.9%, so you meet the eligibility. Just make sure your JEE Advanced rank is good enough, and then participate in JoSAA counseling to get your IIT seat. Good luck!
