IMU CET 2019

IMU CET 2019 – Indian Maritime University will be conducting IMU CET 2019 tentatively in the first week of June. IMU CET 2019 offers admissions to candidates into the various courses offered by the campuses of the institute. The scores secured in IMU CET 2019 can also be used for admissions into the affiliated institutes. Registrations for IMU CET 2019 will be open tentatively from the second week of May. All candidates will have to register to participate in the IMU CET examination. The authorities will declare the result of IMU CET 2019 tentatively in the first week of June. The counselling session will be conducted only for admissions into the six campuses of Indian Maritime University. IMU CET Eligibility Criteria 2019

All candidates will be required to meet certain requirements which have been set up by the authorities. These requirements are categorized as the eligibility criteria of IMU CET 2019. If the candidates do not meet the requirements then their application may get cancelled.

Age Limit

General category candidates should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years old as on August 1, 2019. Maximum five years age relaxation is provided to SC/ST category candidates.

Academic Qualifications

  • The candidates should have passed 12th standard qualifying examination with aggregate marks of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • Atleast 50% marks should have been secured by the candidates in English

  • For SC/ST category candidates, there is a relaxation in marks. However, no relaxation will be provided in English.

Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 by any recognized state or central board

  • Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi

  • Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi

  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level

  • Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services wing of the National Defence Academy

  • H.S.C vocational examination

  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects

  • H.S.C vocational examination

  • Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration

  • Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign Country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

Medical Fitness

  • A medical certificate issued by doctors who are approved by Director General of Shipping has to be produced by the candidates applying for Marine Engineering.

  • Physical fitness certificate from registered medical practitioner has to be provided by the candidates applying for B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) and B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair).

Eyesight

Candidates applying for B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science), B.Sc (Nautical Science), B.Sc (Maritime Science) & B.Tech (Marine Engineering) should not be:

  • Squint

  • No morbid condition of eyes

  • The eyelids that is liable to aggravate or recur

  • There should be no pressure of trachoma and iris complication sequel

  • Good binocular vision

  • Eyeballs should move in all directions

  • Pupils should react normally to light and accommodation

Candidates joining DNS, B.Sc (Nautical Science) & B.Sc (Maritime Science) degree course colour vision shall (unaided 1.0 (6/6) in better eye and 0.67 (6/9) in other eye. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.

Candidates applying for B.Tech (Marine Engineering) degree course, distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in other eye. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.

IMU CET Application Form 2019

Indian Maritime University will be releasing the application form of IMU CET 2019 tentatively in the first week of April. The candidates will have to fill and submit the application form tentatively in the second week of May 2019. While filling the IMU CET 2019 application form, the candidates will have to provide valid personal, academic and contact information.

 

Steps to fill IMU CET 2019 Application Form

  • Registration – Firstly the candidates will have to register using their email id and mobile number.

  • Filling the online application form – The candidates will have to fill the application form with their personal, academic and contact information.

  • Uploading of documents – Next, the candidates will have to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph, signature, 10th standard marksheet as proof of date of birth, 12th standard certificate and SC/ST/OBC-NCL Certificate (if applicable).

  • Payment of application fee – The required application fee has to be paid by the candidates in online mode.

  • Submission of application form – The filled application form has to be submitted and printed out for future reference. An automated email and sms will be received by the candidates on successful registration.

IMU CET Exam Centres 2019

While filling the application form, the candidates will be required to select their three preferred exam centres of IMU CET 2019. While the exam centres will not be listed out, the candidates will have to select their preferred cities. There may be multiple test centres in one exam city. Allotment of exam centres will be done as per the candidates’ preference and availability of seats in the particular centre. The admission authorities will also have to discretion to transfer the exam venue of the candidate if adequate numbers were not met. More IMU CET 2019 exam centres can also be set up by the authorities.

IMU CET Admit Card 2019

Registered candidates will be able to access their admit card of IMU CET 2019 tentatively in the third week of May 2019. All details regarding the examination centre, timings and more will be available in the admit card. Candidates will be required to carry the admit card to the examination venue since it is essential to be produced. Without the admit card, the candidates may not be allowed to participate in the examination.

 

How to download IMU CET 2019 Admit Card

  • Candidates will have to submit their User ID and password.

  • Click on Submit

  • The admit card will be displayed on the screen. Candidates will have to check for any discrepancies and print out the admit card.

IMU CET Result 2019

The authorities will be announcing the result of IMU CET 2019 in online mode tentatively in the first week of June 2019. IMU CET result 2019 will be released in the form of PDF and the candidates will also be informed through SMS and Email. The result will consist of the candidates’ name, application number, rank, parent/guardian name, gender and social category. Candidates will have to remember that the result of IMU CET 2019 will be valid only for that particular academic session.

 

IMU CET Counselling 2019

Registrations for IMU CET counselling 2019 will commence tentatively from the first week of June. Candidates will be able to fill the application form online. Payment of non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 10,000 has to be done by the candidates either through online mode (net banking/credit card/debit card). During registration, the candidates will have to select their preferred colleges and courses. Allotment of seats will be done according to the candidates’ secured rank, category, preferences and availability of seat. The list of selected candidates will be released and they will have to download their allotment letter. To confirm their allotment, the candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 25,000.

 

It is to be noted that the counselling is done only for the six campuses of IMU CET. Separate counselling will be conducted by the affiliated institutes and the candidates will have to directly apply for admission in the particular institutes.
