IISER conducts entrance exam in order to give admission to students. And students who cleared 10+2 are eligible for appearing for entrance exam. Also admissions are based on the score scored in entrance test.
Entrance test conducted is objective.

Hey gopal, if you are asking about the IISER Cutoffs for SC category , then i would like to tell you that it is 55% for all boards . It may vary this year due to different factors like the number of seats available , number of applicants etc. But generally , it does not vary much

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in five-year long BS-MS dual degree programme offered by them.
On the basis of a candidate’s score in IISER entrance exam (also known as IISER aptitude test), he/she can secure admission at IISER located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, or Tirupati.
Candidates who have cleared their Class XII in Science stream are eligible to apply for IISER entrance exam 2018.
As per IISER entrance exam pattern there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.
IISER entrance exam 2018 dates are out. IISER Aptitude Test 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on June 24
All candidates who are Indian nationals and belong to Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) category are eligible for IISER admissions 2018. However, admissions at IISER are done through three different channels mentioned below.
It is mandatory for candidates to meet IISER eligibility criteria under any one of the channels for admissions 2018.
IISER Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria under State and Central Boards (SCB) Channel
All candidates who have cleared Class XII exams in Science stream in 2017/ 2018 fulfill IISER entrance exam 2018 eligibility criteria. However, candidates should also score marks (in their respective boards) equal or above the cutoff percentage as stipulated by IISER (mentioned in the table below) in order to meet IISER entrance exam eligibility criteria.

Makarand admissions to IISER 2018 will be through three channels:
Among these 3 channels, only the students going through the SCB channel have to appear in IISER Aptitude Test 2018. This test comprises of four subjects of equal weightage: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. 15 questions in each subject and gets you +3 marks for each correct question and -1 for incorrect answers.
Even when you don't have biology subject you don't have any other option and needs to give this test. Although questions in Biology will not be so difficult still I can imagine your problem, you can go through the syllabus and look out for some of the topics otherwise the only option you have to score more in the other 3 subjects.
