I m in first year engineering and I m SC candidate. I am aiming to give JEE Mains and JEE advance once again. If I got any NIT aur IIT, so will I get cast benifits for tuition fee and hostel fee in them or I have to pay for this stuffs?

ayanmukherjee045 18th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, there will be benefits for you as you belong to the sc/st category and your whole tuition fee will be remitted which is around 63k in NITs and around 80k in IITs.

So, you can surely give a try and you should have enough confidence to crack . As you also have the benefit of category reservation your cut off will be much lower . Take the benefit of this advantage.

I have completed my 12th from cbse with PCB in 2022 as main subject wih 90%.Now i am giving additional subject maths as a private candidate from cbse in 2024.Am i be eligible for jee mains and jee advance?

ayanmukherjee045 17th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

The eligibility criteria for jee mains are as follows -

  • Candidates should pass from any recognised board or University.
  • Candidates should secure a minimum 75 percentage in their class 12th boards.
  • Candidates should opt for physics chemistry and mathematics as mandatory subjects.

So, if it's mentioned that mathematics is an optional subject and it is not in the same marksheet then you won't be eligible to give jee mains/advanced.

ayanmukherjee045 9th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

As you passed your 12th examination in the year 2023 so you are eligible for jee advanced in the year 2023 and in the year 2024.

For jee mains you can give three attempts so you can give it in the year 2023,2024 and 2025.

In addition to this candidates should also secure a minimum of 75 percentage in their class 12th in aggregate to become eligible to sit for jee mains . You should opt for physics chemistry and mathematics as mandatory subjects in your class 12th.

Hello Aspirant,

The eligibility criteria of jee mains 2024 is as follows -

  1. Candidates should pass from any recognised board or University.
  2. Candidates should opt for physics chemistry and mathematics as mandatory subjects .
  3. Candidates should secure a minimum of 75 percentage in their class 12th.

So if you want to become eligible for jee mains you need to score 75% in NIOS board too. And in JEE mains you can give a total of 3 attempts .

Does simply registering for 12th board exam and not appearing in it count as an appearance? I registered for board in 2022 but didnt appear in 2022, I did get admit card for 2022 but still didnt appear, instead Ill be appearing in 2023, so will that effect my eligibility in jee advanced 2024???

ayanmukherjee045 14th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

No, if you are producing all the mandatory certificate required for jee mains of your class 12th boards in 2023 then it's valid . You need not worry about that .

You can give two attempts of jee mains in the year 2024 and 2025 and one more attempt of jee advanced in the year 2024.

Candidates should secure a minimum of 75 percentage in their class 12th boards.

Does simply registering for 12th board exam and not appearing in it count as an appearance? I was supposed to appear in my board exams in 2022, I even got admit card but didnt appear in 2022,instead Ill be appearing in 2023, will that effect my jee advanced 2024 eligibility as appearing yr matters

ayanmukherjee045 18th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

No, just by simply registering for the 12th boards doesn't mean that you have appeared for the examination. Until your marksheet is generated till that time your attempt won't be counted as an attempt.

So if you are planning to give your 12th in 2023 then your two more attempts will be in the year 2024 and 2025 and for jee advanced there will be one more attempt in the year 2024.

I am in top 20 percentile including PCM with Bengali and English. But in my marksheet Math has become optional subject because Biology has more marks than Math. If I qualified in Jee Advanced am I eligible to take admission in IIT ?

ayanmukherjee045 9th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

As you have taken pcm with Bengal and English and you have also opted for biology let me tell you that what matters is whether you have scored 75% in aggregate in your class 12th or not and if you have not secured that you are not eligible to sit for jee mains and jee advanced .

Your English + best four system doesn't matter in calculation of percentage because in this all the subjects will be calculated.

Can we give IIT jee after 2 yrs vocational training?

Suganya M 29th Apr, 2025

Yes, it is possible to give the IIT JEE exam after completing 2 years of vocational training, but there are certain eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Educational Qualification:

  • To appear for IIT JEE, you need to have completed your 12th standard or an equivalent course, which includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics .

  • If your vocational training covers these subjects and is recognized as equivalent to the 12th standard by the relevant educational authorities, then you can apply for IIT JEE.

2. Age Criteria:

  • For general category candidates, you should have been born on or after October 1, 2000 .

  • For candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST), the age limit is relaxed, and they should have been born on or after October 1, 1995 .

3. Number of Attempts:

  • You can attempt the JEE exams twice in consecutive years. So, if you are taking the exam after completing vocational training, this will count as your first attempt. Your second attempt will be in the following year if you choose to.

4. Verification of Qualifications:

  • You must ensure that your vocational training certificate is recognized and equivalent to the 12th standard. You may need to provide the necessary documents during the application process to confirm this.

5. Preparation:

  • Since IIT JEE focuses on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics , it’s important to have a strong foundation in these areas. If your vocational training has covered these subjects in-depth, you should be well-prepared. If not, you may want to invest time in studying these subjects thoroughly.
