SAAT Reservation Criteria 2017 - The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University has a reservation criteria according to which the seats are allotted to the candidates during the SAAT counselling. The SAAT 2017 Reservation Criteria elaborates on the reservation guidelines followed as per the rules of the Govt for the seat allotment through SAAT 2017 exam. Candidates who apply on the basis of the reservation will be required to furnish proof of the same in the form of category certificate during counselling. All the candidates are suggested to check the reservation for their category and evaluate the seats available for them in SAAT 2017. The online application form for SAAT is available from January 17 till April 12, 2017. Application fees for the candidates applying under reservations will be lesser compared to the general category. Important points regarding the SAAT 2017 Reservation Criteria
SC/ST candidates have to provide a category certificate from a competent authority. This certificate must be latest.
SC/ST candidates from Odisha staying outside the state have to produce SC/ST certificate from the competent authority of Odisha State during the counselling for SAAT 2017.
As per SAAT Reservation Criteria 2017, SC / ST persons who had migrated from their state of origin to another state for the purpose of seeking education, employment etc., will be deemed to be SC/ ST of state of their origin and will be entitled to the reservation.
The University will prepare a separate Merit List for SAAT 2017 category wise. If the seats remain vacant for a particular category after counselling and no eligible candidate belonging to the reserved category is available, seats will be filled up by the General category candidates.
OBC candidates are only eligible for marks relaxation.
A candidate only with 40% disabilities in consonance with section-39 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 will be considered under Physically Handicapped Category for admission to any of the available courses available at Siksha O Anusandhan University.
According to SAAT 2017 Reservation Criteria Candidates seeking admission under PH category shall have to provide a medical certificate as a proof of their disability from a medical board constituted under the chairmanship of Dean, Institute of Medical Science & SUM Hospital (IMS & SH) with senior professors of the IMS & SH and Director (Admissions) of SOA University or his representative(s) at the time of counselling in specified format.
Reservation for women candidates is for admission to all programmes through SAAT 2017 except for MBBS and BDS courses.

Is SAAT 2023 exam mandatory for getting admission into Siksha O Anusandhan University?
No. SAAT 2023 exam is not necessary for getting admission into Siksha O Anusandhan University. If the candidate has given any other national level entrance exam instead of the SAAT exam, then those scores will be considered for the admissions.
