UCEED Counselling & Seat Allotment 2018 – IIT Bombay will conduct the joint counselling of UCEED 2018 in three phases for admission to B.Des. programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur. Candidates can submit their application from June 8-23 to participate in UCEED 2018 counselling and seat allotment. It may be noted that the counselling and seat allotment of UCEED 2018 will be entirely done online and candidates are not required to report to any institute for seat acceptance. In order to participate in the UCEED 2018 counselling and seat allotment process, the candidates need to have qualified UCEED 2018 and have to fill the common application form for admissions to all the 3 participating institutes. The Phase I of seat allotment of UCEED 2018 will start on July 2. Candidates who will be allotted seats, will be informed through seat allotment letters sent to their registered email ID. How to participate in UCEED Counselling & Seat Allotment 2018?
Only UCEED 2018 qualified students can apply for admission to the B. Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIITDM Jabalpur. The 3 institutes have a common application form, which needs to be filled in by the aspiring candidates who wish to participate in the seat allotment process of UCEED 2018. However, before filling the application form for admissions, the candidates must check the following eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria for UCEED Counselling/Seat Allotment 2018
Qualified candidates of UCEED 2018 have to fulfil the following 3 eligibility conditions,
Criteria related to age – General category candidates/OBC-NCL candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1998, while candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category must be born on or after October 1, 1993.
Criteria related to UCEED qualification – The candidates should have qualified UCEED 2018 and must have secured a rank in it.
Criteria related to qualifying exam – The candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent (qualifying exam) in 2017 or 2018.
Candidates with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (PCM) can apply for admissions to IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur, while candidates from any other stream (Science without Maths or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply for admissions to only IIT Bombay and IIITDM Jabalpur.
Only candidates who have (i) taken the qualifying exam (Class XII or equivalent) from schools located in Delhi, and (ii) secured 80% marks or above in Maths, and (iii) 80% marks or above aggregate score of best five subjects including Maths, would be considered eligible to apply to the B. Tech in Computer Science and Design (CSD) programme at IIIT Delhi.
Candidates appearing in the final exam of their qualifying certificate in 2018 must ensure that: (a) all parts of their final exam are completed by the date of registration in the respective admitting institute, and (b) they submit the proof of having passed the qualifying exam with required eligibility at the respective admitting institute by September 30, 2018.
In case a qualifying board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, then the candidates must obtain a certificate from the Board mentioning the passing grade and submit it at the time of online seat acceptance. If such a certificate is not provided, then the decision taken by the UCEED Committee will be final.

Steps to fill UCEED 2018 Admission Application Form
Candidates must fill the application form through the link above via the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal (The link will be updated soon)
Login using the registered login ID and password – Candidates must log in using their registered login ID and password (created at the time of UCEED application). In case the candidates forget their log in particulars, they must register again through the IIT Bombay external User Registration Portal and thereafter fill the application form for admissions.
Fill Application form - Fill personal details and select institutes of your choice as per the order of preference.
Upload Documents – Upload digital copies of - Photo, Signature, UCEED Score Card, Qualifying Examination Mark Sheet (Class XII or equivalent), and where applicable, OBC-NCL/SC/ST Certificate, PwD Certificate, and OCI/PIO Card.
Note: OBC-NCL category candidates with a rank must upload a copy of the new OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after April 1, 2018. Candidates without OBC-NCL category certificate will be considered in the open category (provided they have an Open Rank).
Important: Candidates can edit or make changes in their application details before submitting it. After submitting, no change will be entertained.

UCEED 2018 Counselling and Seat Allotment
The join seat allotment will be held in 3 rounds as per the following rules and as per the candidates category-ranks and choices of institutes. However, if the seats are filled, the counselling and seat allotment procedure can close even before conducting 3 rounds. Candidates who have successfully submitted their application form within the time frame, will be allotted seats. Once the candidates are allotted seats wherein they will be sent provisional seat allotment letters on their registered email ID, they have to further pay the seat acceptance fee (Fee details can be found below).
UCEED Seat Allotment Rules 2018
In case selected candidates are unable to pay the seat acceptance fee within the time frame or can the seat, then their application will get cancelled and that particular seats gets vacant to be offered in the subsequent round.
In case the candidates are allotted seat of their first choice, then either they can accept (Freeze) the seat or cancel/decline the allotted seat. Such candidates are not allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds.
In case the candidates are offered seats of their 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice, then they can opt for accept (freeze), decline or accept the allotted seat with the option of moving upward (Float).

The candidates who have been allotted seats, must confirm seat acceptance by paying the seat acceptance fee (Fee details are given below). If candidates pay the seat acceptance fee and freeze the allotted seat, then they will be allotted final allotment letter. The final seat allotment letter to candidates who opt for float option will be given after the allotted seat is frozen or at the end of the final round.

Candidates must note that this admission is provisional and is subject to change after the original document verification as specified by the admitting institute. The admitting institutes have the right to cancel the seat (at any stage) if the documents or any information provided is found to be incorrect/false.
Reporting to the Respective Institute
The last stage in the admission process is reporting to the respective institutes as per the schedule given to the candidates in the final seat allotment letter. While reporting at the respective institute, the candidates have to appear physical for document verification (Original documents), pay the balance fee, attend orientation and begin classes.
Freeze and Float Options
Freeze – Means that candidate is happy and is accepting the seat allotted to him/her.
Float – Means that the candidates will accept the allotted seat, however, can accept the seats in the subsequent round if given a chance to get admission at the institute of their higher preference, they will take admission there or else will continue with the same allotment. Such candidates can participate in the subsequent rounds of seat allotment.
