VITEEE 2017 Phase I Counselling Starts

VITEEE 2017 Counselling for Phase I has started and will continue till May 12. VITEEE 2017 Phase I counselling includes candidates who are ranked in the top 20,000 in the online entrance examination conducted by VIT University. Candidates for the first round are divided into three groups: (Group A) Rank 1-8,000 (Group B) Rank 8001-14,000, and (Group C) 14,0001- 20,000. Counselling for Group A starts on May 10, followed by Group B on May 11, and finally Group C on May 12. In addition to the merit rank obtained by the candidates, the options entered by the candidate (preferred branch and institute) will be considered when alloting B.Tech seats during VITEEE 2017 counselling. Candidates shortlisted for counselling need to be present in person, or else the seat will be offered to the candidate next in the order of merit.

Candidates who are selected after counselling will be alloted seats at the four campuses of the university: VIT Chennai, VIT Vellore,VIT Andhra Pradesh and VIT Bhopal. The four campuses have a total combined strength of 5,000 B.Tech seats. Counselling of VITEEE 2017 for Phase II will commence after conclusion of Phase I on March 15, and conclude on May 22, 2017.

VITEEE 2017 Counselling Phase I: Important Dates 

Counselling Procedure of VITEEE 2017

• Candidates can participate in counselling only once.

• Once a candidate has been alloted a seat during VITEEE 2017 counselling, no change of seat or campus will be entertained afterwards

• Counselling and allotment of seats will purely be based on the AIR obtained by the candidate in VITEEE 2017

• During counselling, the candidate will be able to select from the available branches and campuses at the moment.

• Higher ranked candidates will be given preference over lower ranked candidates and so will have more options to choose from

• Register for VITEEE Counselling: To participate in counselling, it is mandatory for candidates to register in any of the counselling venues and exercise choice filling as per their ranking

• Counselling and Processing Fee: To participate in VITEEE counselling 2017, shortlisted candidates need to draw a DD of Rs. 50,000 in favour of VIT University and payable at Vellore. The draft amount also includes the counselling and processing fee of RS. 12,000, which is non-refundable. The balance fee can be paid by June 12, 2017, either through DD mode or online payment mode.

• The fee structure is the same across all four campuses

• Uploading of Documents on Student Profile: The candidate must upload all relevant documents.

VITEEE Counselling 2017: Important Points

• The candidate has to attend the counselling of VITEEE 2017 in person, or else the candidate next in merit order will be considered for seat allotment.

• In some special cases, the candidate may be alloted a subsequent date and time. But for this, candidate needs to obtain a permission from exam authorities.

• The counselling date and time will not be changed under any circumstances.

• The number of seats (branch-wise) available at the end of that day’s counselling will be publsihed online.

• Aadhar Card  (Should be self-attested)

• Class X Board Certificate as proof of age or any Certificate that contains age proof

• Mark sheet of Qualifying Examination

• Candidates awaiting results must produce XII board Hall Ticket

• Community Certificate (applicable for SC/ST candidates)

• Nativity Certificate (if the candidate belongs to Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim)

• DD of Rs. 50,000 drawn in favour of 'VIT University', payable at Vellore
