How to apply for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2017?
Step 1 - Registration and filling the application form of PGCIL recruitment 2017
Candidates will be required to register and fill their personal details, GATE 2017 Registration No and academic details.
Applicants must ensure that the details match those in the GATE 2017 application form.
After successful submission of the application for the Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2017, an unique registration number will be generated.
Candidates will be able to download the completed application form which they must do in "Potrait"
They will receive an email also to their registered email ID after submission.
For subsequent log in to download the call letters, check shortlisted candidates, candidates must use their registered Email ID as the Login ID and the Power Grid registration no as password.

Step 2 - Payment of application fees:
Fee Amount: Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 200. Departmental candidates/ SC/ST/PwD/Ex-SM candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

Offline Payment through SBI challan
After successful completion of registration candidates shall receive an email with details of their Login ID, Password and other information.
Two days after submission of the application form, candidates must login using this information and opt for the offline payment.
They must download and print 2 copies of the SBI Challan that will be available after opting for the same.
They must submit the application Fee of Rs.200/- at any SBI branch using this Challan
After submission of the fee, candidates are advised to retain their copy of the Bank Challan.
Candidates must note that the payment status will be reflected within a week of payment at the bank through an acknowledgement of the same in the candidate login section
Online Payment-Through Payment Gateway
Candidates must log in after they receive the email and password details in their registered email. click here to log in
They will re-directed to the payment gateway if they choose the online method of payment.
Candidates can pay through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or available eWallet.
Payment confirmed will be immediately reflected with a transaction ID and candidates must save these details
If a transaction fails and the amount is deducted, candidates are advised to wait till 2 hours to check the update on payment status.
In spite of no change in the status, candidates will have to mail stating the issue quoting the POWERGRID Registration No
Selection Process for Power Grid Recruitment through GATE 2017
Qualified candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for group discussion and personal interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2017, in the corresponding paper.
Candidates must qualify in the personal interview in order to be considered for empanelment. The qualifying percentage of marks in interview for different categories are mentioned below:

Weightage of different parameters
For calculation of final score of a candidate for empanelment, the weightages of marks obtained in GATE, Group Discussion and Interview shall be as indicated below:
GATE 2017 Marks (out of 100) in corresponding Paper
Only GATE 2017 score (normalized marks out of 100) is valid for this recruitment process. GATE score of 2016 or prior is not valid.
Pay Scale & Probation Details
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 24900-50500 while undergoing the one year training period. On successful completion of their training, candidates will be absorbed as Engineer. Candidates may note that the CTC and other emoluments may vary based on the place of posting as well as the terms of appointment. The approximate CTC will include Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites and Allowance as per cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, Company Leased Accommodation / Company Quarters or HRA, Reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, mobile facility, etc and will be as shown below. Candidates may note that this is the Cost to Company per annum.

Service Agreement Details
Selected candidates are required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the one year trtaining period of one year and serve the organization for a minimum of 3 years. Candidates are required to execute a service bond for Rs 1,00,000/- for General/OBC (NCL) candidates. SC/ST/PwD candidates have to execute a bond of Rs 50,000/-.
