Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published a new notification for the upcoming Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2017. According to the notification released, the KCET application forms will be available for all applicants from January 27, 2017 (4:00PM). Last day to submit the application form in online mode is scheduled to be on February 27, 2017 (4:00PM). The notification also consists of the abridged version of the application process along with the eligibility criteria for admissions. Karnataka CET 2017 will be held on May 2 and May 3, 2017.

How to Apply for KCET 2017?
The application form of KCET 2017 will be available only in online mode from January 27, 2017. It is required that the applicants fill and submit the application form to be registered for the entrance examination. Check Karnataka CET Application Form 2017 to fill the online application form. Personal and academic details of the applicant will have to be filled in and submitted after which an application ID and password will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number of the applicant. The application ID and password should be noted down for future use. Next, the applicant will have to upload the scanned copy of their recent passport size colour photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression (JPG/JPEG Format). The challan copy which is in triplicate has to be printed after which the applicants will have to pay the required application fees at the e-Post office/ in any branches of the Banks specified. The bank/e-Post Office will retain their copy of the challan and hand over the other two to the applicants. Those applicant who are residing outside India will have to pay the fees in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority” payable at Bangalore and send it to KEA by mentioning the application number. A print out of the filled and submitted application form should be taken out on A-4 size paper and obtain the Principal seal and signature from the last studied institute.

Who are Eligible for KCET 2017?
The notification has also released information regarding the eligibility criteria for admissions into the engineering institutes through KCET 2017. Only the eligible applicants will be allowed to sit for the entrance examination. All of the applicants should have completed their 10+2th standard (or equivalent) qualifying examination with English as one of the languages. An aggregate of 45% marks should have been scored in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computer. For reserved category applicants, the aggregate marks is 40%.
Karnataka CET 2017 offers admission to all eligible applicants into more than 220 engineering institutes of the state. The entrance examination will be held on May 2 and May 3, 2017. The selected applicants for the counselling session will be announced through the merit list. The criteria for determination of merit/rank will be done by taking marks in equal proportions of the qualifying examination and KCET 2017 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. A counselling session of these selected applicants will be held for allotment of seats.
