Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will open JEE Main 2018 registration from December 1, 2017. Aspiring candidates can fill the online application form of JEE Main 2018 till January 2, 2018, while the last date for application fee payment is January 3. Apart from the dates of JEE Main 2018 application form, no other dates related to any event of the national level engineering entrance examination have been released so far.

Like 2017, the information available on the under-construction JEE Main 2018 website reads, “All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE Main 2018, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2018. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.”
However, candidates belonging to the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya are exempted from entering their Aadhaar details in the online application form of JEE Main 2018. In lieu of Aadhaar details, candidates from J&K, Assam & Meghalaya have to enter their passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid government ID proof.

Earlier, Careers360 had reported that JEE Main notification for 2018 will be declared anytime soon and that the offline exam of JEE Main 2018 will be held on April 8. However, the examination date for JEE Main online will be declared in due course.
As per the eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2018, candidates passed class 12th or equivalent examination in 2016, 2017 or are appearing in class XII/qualifying exam in 2018 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2018. General candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1993, while reserved candidates (SC/ST/PwD) must have been born on or after October 1, 1988 to be eligible for JEE Main.

Every year, over 12 lakh candidates appear in JEE Main for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
