Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the result for JEE Main 2017 (Paper I) on or before April 27. The result will be announced for candidates who had taken the national level engineering entrance examination on April 2, 8 and 9. JEE Main result 2017 for Paper II will be announced on May 27. Candidates will be able to check their JEE Main 2017 result by entering their JEE Main 2017 Roll Number and Date of birth in the online result page. Candidates must note that the result will be available online and no candidate will get their result of JEE Main 2017 through post or mail or any other means. Therefore, they have to check and download their result online only.

JEE Main 2017 result comprises score and rank of Paper I. Score of JEE Main 2017 are the actual marks secured by the test takers in Paper-I. Along with their scores and ranks, the examinees will also be able to check their qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2017. But the status of the candidates for JEE Advanced will be provided and subject to other conditions of eligibility being met.
The ranks of JEE Main 2017 reflect candidates’ All India Rank and All India Category Rank. Only the All India Rank is used for counselling/admission through Central Seat Allocation Board to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs/others, while the All India Category Rank will be just for information sake.

Tie-breaker rule for JEE Main 2017 ranks:
If two or more candidates secure equal marks, then in that case inter-se merit of such candidates shall be decided in the following order:
Rank list for admission to B.E./B. Tech. (in institutions other than IITs)
Resolution by marks obtained in Mathematics in JEE Main 2017. Candidate with higher marks will be given better rank.
Resolution by marks obtained in Physics in the JEE Main 2017. Candidate having higher marks will be given better rank.
Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate with higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
Even after this criteria if the resolution is not possible, then the candidates will be given the same rank.
JEE Main registrations reported a dip for the consecutive third year now. In 2017, nearly 1% dip has been registered as compared to the last year. According to the official data, a total of 11,98,989 students had registered for JEE Main 2017. Out of the 11,98,989 registered candidates, 8,62,526 were male, while 3,36,460 were female candidates and 3 transgenders.
In other words, around 72% registered candidates were male, while over 27% of the test takers were female. For the academic year 2017, as many as 10,15,349 had taken the test in offline mode on April 2, while 1,83,640 appeared in the online (Computer Based Test) mode on April 8 and 9.
