Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that JEE Main Application form will be available from December 1. The announcement by the CBSE comes with the launch of JEE Main 2017 portal on November 18. According to CBSE officials, the application form for JEE Main 2017 will be available online till January 2, which is the last date for application submission. However, the exam conducting authority has given one extra day for application fee submission. Thus aspirants can pay the application fee for JEE Main 2017 till January 3.
Apart from releasing the web portal and application dates, CBSE has announced a new eligibility requirement for filling JEE Main 2017 application form. As per the new eligibility condition, all the Indian citizen candidates should possess Aadhaar Card issued by UIDAI.
The official notification reads, “All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE Main 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE Main 2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.”
Thus, all the aspiring candidates must ensure that they possess Aadhaar Card if they wish to take JEE Main 2017.
Earlier, the officials had declared the test dates for JEE Main 2017 along with the launch of JEE Advanced 2017 portal and important dates.
JEE Main will be conducted offline by CBSE on April 2, 2017, while the result of the national level engineering entrance exam will be announced on April 27. The national level engineering entrance exam, JEE Main 2017 is the first stage exam for admissions to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
