Is JEE Advanced 2020 going to be postponed because of COVID-19?
COVID-19 or commonly known as Coronavirus has spread around the globe and recently made its entry into India. Unfortunately, India is currently going through entrance examination season, and there are chances of it being impacted due to the outbreak. Engineering is one of the popular fields selected by Indian students for further studies and studying in IITs is a dream for them. JEE Advanced, which is the entrance test for IITs, was be held on May 17. However, with the ongoing situation, are there chances of JEE Advanced being postponed because of COVID-19? Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi had previously announced the postponement of JEE Advanced 2020 due to COVID-19. But, the examination will now be rescheduled to be conducted on September 27 as per HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

April 1, 2020 - In the previous update, IIT Delhi had announced that the exam has been postponed due to the pandemic
Previously, the Organizing Chairman of JEE (Advanced) 2020 had notified there was no change of schedule as of then. If any changes were to be made in the exam date, the authorities would inform the students through the official website. The changes have been informed by the authorities now.
JEE Advanced 2020 was to be held on May 17. Along with the exam dates, JEE Advanced 2020 application form which was expected to be released on May 1 has also been postponed. All candidates will have to qualify JEE Main 2020 to be eligible for JEE Advanced examination.

Instead of thinking what will happen in JOSAA that too after JEE Adv, think what will happen if you dont even qualify JEE Main. (LOL)
On a serious note, JOSAA is a very simple counselling procedure, where after registration you need to set your preference according to your rank and are allotted seat accordingly in subsequent rounds of counselling.

can we use calculator in jee mains and jee advance exam?
Hello student ,
Calculators will not be allowed for JEE Main and advanced . The authorities have prohibited the use of calculators or any other electronic devices i n the exam centre .

No it is not necessary to be in top 2.5 Lakh rank holders but yes the cut-off percentile are decided in the way so that only around 2.5 Lakhs to 2.7 Lakhs candidates get eligible to sit for JEE-Advance. See the qualifying cut-off percentiles which needs to be cleared by any candidate to sit in JEE-Advance is released along with the final result of JEE-Main and for JEE-Main 2021 the final result will be released after all four attempts will be completed and the final result will be on the basis of your best score amongst different attempts. However basis on previous year's cut-off trends we can help you with the expected qualifying cut-offs for this year :-
- Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile
- GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile
- Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile
- Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile
- PwD - 1-2 Percentile
